In an upscale private dining restaurant, Wang Yan found Gu Li, who had been waiting there for some time, under the guidance of a server.
The dishes had all been served before Wang Yan arrived, so he did not stand on ceremony. He sat down beside Gu Li, picked up his chopsticks, and started eating.

Gu Li took a sip of juice to suppress the churning in her stomach, then said with a miserable smile, "You must be feeling pretty pleased with yourself now, huh? Like everything's going your way?"
"Where did that come from?" Wang Yan looked as though he had no idea what she meant, yet he still could not stop himself from talking. "I'm actually a pretty low-key person. I have a clear understanding of myself. But if you insist on thinking I'm pleased with myself now, that I'm basking in success, then I can tell you—I've always been pleased with myself, not just now."
"At this point, do you still see any point in playing dumb? I don't believe Lin Xiao didn't tell you that I already know about the two of you. I know Lin Xiao. She doesn't have much of a mind of her own. After she admitted it to me that day, she definitely
