"How are things?" Though the fog had given Tyrion a view of the Chaos Fleet, now in disarray, from the highest point of the Dragon Ship—a lookout tower that also served as a Wizard's tower—he still needed a report from the personnel up front.
They used communication magic to contact the commanders at the front, such as the one aboard the eagle ship that had just seized Bill's vessel.
Of course, passing along reports all at once would cause confusion, so the commanders usually sent their messages to a messenger first, who then reported to Tyrion.
The situation was a little troublesome.
The attack had been terrifyingly powerful. The Khorne Fleet at the very front had taken a devastating blow almost instantly.
But the Nurgle Fleet on the flank wasn't so easy to deal with.
Nurgle's followers had tremendous vitality. Even with arrows sticking out all over them like a hedgehog's spines, they weren't necessarily dead.
Then these fellows would play dead on the ground, waiting for the High Elves to get close.
The High Elves, however, had a fair amount of experience.
Just by looking at a fleet's main colors and decorations, they could tell whether it belonged to Khorne or Nurgle.
Before boarding, they would usually cast both Neutralize Poison and Remove Disease.
They were also extremely wary of Nurgle's followers, who might be playing dead.
That was where the trouble began.
The High Elves were very cautious around Nurgle's Chaos Warriors.
But those warriors could spew all sorts of strange liquids, and they could do that even while lying on the ground.
Unlike Khorne's Chaos Warriors, who could only fight head-on.
So despite taking every precaution, some unlucky High Elves still got hit.
And once they were, they were almost as good as dead in no time.
