Two Actors Putting on a Show

Under Lin Yun and the others' watchful guard, they slowly made their way deeper into the castle.

Theoretically, Lin Yun should have been able to return using a spell like Wish. The problem was, casting Wish could very well lead to other complications.

After all, if it were something like the previous time, when he used Wish's basic ability to enhance his own inherent bonuses, then that was one thing. Getting out of this Demiplane was another matter entirely.

Even Kanna couldn't leave this Demiplane easily.

In other words, ordinary spells like Plane Shift and Greater Teleport were completely ineffective.

So, rather than risk it, they might as well go inside and see what the voice was up to.

Before long, Lin Yun and the others entered a grand hall that looked resplendent, yet empty and unsettling.

A woman stood there holding a mirror. She wore purple Japanese clothes and looked every inch a noble princess. Her hair was styled in a typical princess's coiffure, with two ornaments at the back that looked almost like... fish fins.

A string of prayer beads hung around her neck. All in all, her outfit seemed somewhat similar to a Hunting Robe.

"Welcome, humans. I am Kaguya, the Sky Princess, imprisoned by an evil yokai in this castle where no one else lives. Here, I can't even feel time passing." Seeing Lin Yun and the others appear, the purple-clad princess introduced herself.

As she spoke, they could see how pitifully vulnerable she looked. If all of them had been ordinary men, they probably would have fallen for her at once, offered her their hearts, pitied her, and comforted her. How far that comforting might go was best left unsaid.

If they had been ordinary Japanese people, they probably would have been amazed by now.
