These Monk Soldiers were mostly protected by Shield of Faith, with 1st-Circle Magic spells like Divine Grace cast on their Pheasant Blades. Then they unleashed a steady stream of attacks against the monsters—in other words, the Demonic Soldiers.

The Pheasant Blades' long reach allowed several of them to surround the Demonic Soldiers from a safe distance. The weapons were also highly effective at stopping a charge, dealing enough damage to bring the charging Demonic Soldiers to a halt.

Oh, right. Greataxes dealt triple damage on a critical hit, while Pheasant Blades dealt quadruple damage, though... they only dealt D8 damage.

Unfortunately, the Monk Soldiers weren't doing too well. They'd usually fought ordinary soldiers, and because of Nihon's peculiar circumstances, ordinary soldiers didn't dare attack them. That left the Monk Soldiers constrained, with little chance to improve their combat skills.
