The Beastmen troops were much like the ones Lin Yun and the others had seen before. For the most part, they wore no armor and carried all sorts of haphazard weapons. Only about one in ten of them could even afford a shield. That showed just how scarce equipment like shields was among the Beastmen.
The Great Horned Beast Troops were different. The horns of an ordinary Beastman were shaped like the letter C, but the Great-Horned Beasts had long horns that curved sideways in the shape of an S.
More importantly, although the weapons carried by the Great Horned Beast Troops were still a motley assortment, they tended to be heavy. A closer look revealed that most of them were made in the Dwarven style.
In other words, most of these weapons had been stolen from the Dwarves or from humans who had acquired them from the Dwarves.
Their gear was still a hodgepodge, but at least they could wear armor. If the Beastmen troops were like a militia, then the Great Horned Beast Troops were what a proper army ought to look like.
