Everything was developing in the right direction. If things continued like this, then Lin Yun and his companions—or rather, Nurn—would soon win.

That was how things should have gone. But...

Just as the people of Nurn, Lin Yun included, were starting to think that, everything went up in flames.

Literally.

The cannons and crossbows on the city walls, the city gate, some of the musketeers, and a small ammunition depot all exploded.

Part of the wall was even blown apart, sending the soldiers standing on it—and the Wizards from the Amethyst College—tumbling down.

Almost at the same time, a roar came from the distance. A gigantic monster that looked like a Minotaur emerged from the edge of the forest. It resembled a Minotaur, but it was different: much larger, clad in full armor, and covered in a wildly distorted design. A head resembling an eagle seemed to move on its body. The enormous crimson scythe in its hand looked horribly twisted, as if something had been forcibly bound to it.

As it appeared, a great many Minotaurs came into view: at least four units of them, along with two units of fifty Centaurs that looked like they were half-horse and half-Beastmen. They charged this way.

This was bad. That had only been bait. The real army was still behind them.

And the Beast King in the distance was the real Beast King leading this siege.
