As mentioned before, in this world, psyonics were extremely volatile. In most cases, people would kill those born with the gift rather than let them grow up.
Once psyonics were corrupted, they became much like the forces of Chaos. And since Chaos creatures were exceptionally sensitive to psyonics, any corrupted psyonic was basically a humanoid portal waiting to be opened.
It was roughly like warlocks in the early days of World of Warcraft.

That was why the Round Table Council members were so surprised when they saw Lin Yun's psyonics.
Lin Yun understood this perfectly well. But he also knew that if he didn't reveal it sooner rather than later, people would eventually suspect he had ulterior motives.
