A complete human skin lay spread out before Arthur, dripping with blood.
Arthur was tallying the supplies and wealth left behind by Wang Zong's army. The demon castle by the lake alone contained magical materials worth several hundred million gold coins in the surface world. Arthur was so delighted he danced for joy, nearly bursting into song.
These materials were worth little in the Abyssal world. So long as one had enough slaves, they could be mined from its abundant veins. But to Arthur, once these materials were brought to the surface world, they would turn from mere lumps of earth and stone into gold and gems, their value soaring hundreds of times over.
Such bountiful gains had put Arthur in an excellent mood.
But as the scouts he had sent out fled back covered in blood, Arthur's mood abruptly turned foul beyond measure.
That blood-drenched human skin was like a huge slap lashing Arthur's face from side to side, leaving it burning red. Arthur stared furiously at the bloody skin, complete with hair and beard, his body trembling violently.
It was the skin of one of Arthur's scouts, flayed alive. The Abyss demons were brutal in just this way—they had laid their thirst for battle before Arthur in the bloodiest manner possible. Upon that skin, several large words had been crudely embroidered with human hair—Humans must all die!
The few simple words carried a savage, sinister Killing Intent that rushed straight at them, making the faces of the many generals in Arthur's command headquarters turn ugly. Even the Punishment Knights who had once burned countless heretics alive in
