Within the Yellow Springs, different tributaries were governed by different beings. Inevitably, some among them were fierce and combative.
To reach the Samsara Road as quickly as possible, Shi Lan could no longer afford to conserve her blood essence. She cut straight across the Yellow Springs and inevitably ran into a few fights, but in the end, she emerged from them all safe and sound.
Once inside the Yellow Springs, the Starsea Ladder could no longer connect to the mortal world. But the power of space and time contained within it could still spare Shi Lan some of the hardship of traveling.
After more than ten days of pushing herself to the limit and using the Starsea Ladder several times to cross vast distances, Shi Lan finally reached the source of the Yellow Springs.
The Samsara Road was nothing like Shi Lan had imagined. There was no passageway, only a silver-white pillar of light, joined to the Yellow Springs above and the Netherworld below, stretching between heaven and earth like a crack.
Space and time were compressed all around the silver-white pillar of light. There was no longer any concept of front or back, left or right. It was as if that crack were the end of the world, with nothing beyond it.
The crisscrossing tributaries high above had vanished without a trace. All that remained was the boundless, churning Yellow Springs. Its sickly green waters reflected the Netherworld as they swept along countless yin spirits and souls, surging into the crack like waves. There was no way to count them all.
Beside the crack sat an exceptionally striking figure. Its hair hung in a tangled mess, covering its face and falling several yards down. Though its features were hidden, its
