The moment that figure struck, time seemed to freeze all around him. Even the raindrops hanging in the air stopped where they were, unable to move.
The same went for the mosquitoes flying toward him.
After delivering that blow, he took an unconcerned step forward, then brought both blades down in a slash.
The slash cleaved straight through the dark clouds overhead, and sunlight poured down from the sky.
That kind of power was far beyond the ordinary. Liu Zhi had been on the Ice Plain for so long, yet the most he could do was use one of his Sun Boats as a sun. He had never even considered breaking through the clouds to let real sunlight in.
It wasn't that Liu Zhi had never thought of it. He simply couldn't do it.
The clouds overhead were too thick, and they were shrouded in powerful divinity. Even piloting the Sun Boat, Liu Zhi couldn't fly up to them, let alone break through them.
But this figure had managed it. His movements had clearly gone awry as he brought down those two blades, and his face had twisted out of shape. Black blood streamed from every opening in his face, but there was no doubt he had succeeded. That alone showed just how powerful he had been before.
As the sunlight poured down, he let out a cold snort.
"Without your rain domain, what can you do now? Lightning, rain, storms—so what? I'll cut through all of it. Let's see how you fight now."
The next instant, his expression darkened.
Liu Zhi was standing in midair, looking as though he hadn't felt sunlight in ages as he stood calmly in its glow.
When the figure saw Liu Zhi emerge, a faint smile crossed his face.
"Didn't expect that, did you?
