Special creatures were beings that differed somewhat from their original forms. Zombies were technically a kind of special creature too, but no matter how Liu Zhi looked at it, they were nowhere near as strange as the creatures before him.

These creatures looked alive, except that their skin was entirely translucent and blue.

If they were ghosts, then the flesh and bones beneath their skin were clearly visible, layer by layer.
