After making a round of the space, Liu Zhi found that it was about the same size as the Kodo Beast Burial Grounds. If he built a medium-sized camp here, he could take control of the whole area.
The resources here were relatively abundant, too. There were no large beasts, but plenty of smaller ones, especially birds. When Liu Zhi entered, they had taken off in a flurry, but they could not fly beyond the boundaries of the space.
Liu Zhi glanced up at the birds in the sky, then looked down at the ground. He went to a corner and scraped at the earth, finding a large number of bird bones beside the weeds beneath a tree.
It was clear that the birds had no way to leave. They were born here, grew up here, and eventually died here.
Over the years, their bones had piled up everywhere. At the very least, the soil was littered with them.
Liu Zhi crouched down and rummaged through the bones, uncovering a few things.
As soon as the bird bones fell into his hands, Liu Zhi could tell that they were of poor quality. Since these birds had rarely left the space, they had formed an ecosystem of their own here.
Some of the birds had been eaten. They made up about a third of the total; the remaining two-thirds had died for other reasons.
The quality of the bones also showed that the birds in this space had gradually developed their own paths of evolution. The strongest among them had likely reached level 1.
Even this little bit of evolution was an opportunity for the birds. If they were given more time to develop, perhaps they would gain intelligence and eventually create a civilization of their own.
But now, that probably
