The instant he saw that guy's bones turn red, Liu Zhi thought of many things. Most of them had to do with the possible evolutionary paths of Skeleton Soldiers; only a few concerned what was going on with this guy.
After the Skull Head's own head turned red, he seemed to understand something. He glanced at Liu Zhi, then turned and ran deeper into the cave.
Seeing him run off like that left Liu Zhi a little stunned. Could there be another cave hidden behind this one?
With that thought, Liu Zhi hurried after him to take a look. To his surprise, the red skull had turned into a ball of flame and flown away through the cave ceiling.
As he left, he looked just like the black smoke spewed out during a volcanic eruption. It was clear he was used to moving that way.
The whole situation left Liu Zhi speechless. He had thought the guy would challenge him, but instead, he'd turned around and disappeared.
Still, Liu Zhi hadn't come here to fight. He'd come to find the treasure meant for him, so he paid no attention to the Red Skeleton after it ran off.
He kept most of his attention on the cave's murals.
With the red Skull Head gone, the temperature in the cave soon settled down.
Liu Zhi glanced at the murals and found his eyes drawn to them. He noticed that they depicted a gigantic tree, which had to be Yggdrasil, the World Tree of Norse mythology.
The tree was divided into three levels and nine realms. The mural was quite simple, but it depicted each realm in detail, showing different things according to the stories of mythology.
Liu Zhi even saw Odin's palace and Valhalla atop Yggdrasil.
But that wasn't what interested Liu
