Because he had sensed the enemy's movements ahead of time, Liu Zhi knew someone was trying to seize his fleet.
The situation had taken him by surprise. Had the people on that island been away from mainland Greece for so long that they'd grown arrogant? Who had given them the nerve to challenge such a large fleet?
At first, Liu Zhi hadn't planned to pay them any attention. But now that they'd provoked him, he decided to make an example of them.
At the very least, he'd make sure they understood that he wasn't someone to mess with. He didn't go looking for trouble, and others had better not come looking for him.
After thinking it over, Liu Zhi decided to return to the area near the island and see who was bold enough to provoke him.
The people on the island had no idea. They were still discussing how to lure Liu Zhi onto the island and ambush him.

"Think about it. If we enter the Godforsaken Sea Area, there's only a fifty percent chance we'll make it back. And even if we return safely, how much will we bring back?
"But what about the Naga capital? How much treasure is in there? Think about it. Would you rather risk your lives in the Godforsaken Sea Area, or feast this time, take back your ships while you're at it, and enjoy a year or two of prosperity?"
"Of course I'd rather enjoy a year or two of prosperity!"
"Exactly!
