Chapter 689: Gifts from the Beasts

After communicating with the Bone-Eating Giant Lizard, Liu Zhi opened up access to his life camp for the Black Panther and the Wyvern, allowing them to come and go freely.

These creatures were intelligent and knew they had benefited from this arrangement. Neither the Black Panther nor the Wyvern took Liu Zhi's generosity for granted and offered gifts in their own ways.

Noticing that Liu Zhi didn't eat much fish, the Black Panther ventured into the forest and brought back some creatures. The Wyvern, on the other hand, flew further afield or to higher altitudes to gather some fruits.

Soon, other peculiar creatures arrived. Some smaller than the Black Panther, resembling wolves, appeared first, followed by two rhinoceros-like creatures.

Like the Black Panther and the Wyvern, these creatures circled Liu Zhi's camp before being allowed inside. They too brought gifts. The wolf-like creatures presented roots and stones, while the rhinoceros-like creatures, understanding the importance of the matter, directly pushed forward crushed ore.

This ore was perhaps the best gift Liu Zhi received. While other items appeared to be of good quality, he had no use for them.

If he were a true Druid, he might have been delighted by these offerings. But he wasn't. The wood, leaves, and fruits could only serve as alchemy or poison-making materials. The fish and other meats were too small; Liu Zhi could only consume them as food, unable to use them to create Undead.
