A Chance Encounter

Because even the bunker's satellites had failed to track the Zerg entering the sea, Liu Zhi naturally had no idea they were there. He also had no idea that his next destination lay near the island the Zerg had targeted.

Liu Zhi's plan was simple: take every beast he could find.

There seemed to be a great many beasts in these waters, but spread across all the islands, their numbers weren't so impressive.

Liu Zhi didn't have enough troops at his disposal. The cloning machine Lieutenant Xu Yate had promised him was no longer available, so Liu Zhi had to gather all the beasts on every island and strengthen them to prepare for the battles that might lie ahead.

That meant he would have to check even the most distant islands, as long as there were signs that beasts still lived there.

Banshi Beasts could fly, which made things easier. But beasts like Black Panthers, which couldn't fly or swim, had to be transported by boat to the islands Liu Zhi had chosen.

It was a massive undertaking. Liu Zhi might need one or two weeks to move all the beasts.

And right now, he didn't want to waste a single moment.

As long as his ships had room for more beasts, he sailed onward. Once they were full, he used the Starry Sky Beacon's predetermined coordinates to tow all five ships back to the waters near the island he was headed for.

That would speed things up considerably.

But this method had its problems. Returning by teleporting to a location set with the Starry Sky Beacon was easy enough, but teleporting back wasn't possible.
