Using two spells at the same time was normally impossible. But Thunderwing Shield was a defensive spell, so once it was activated, it could be sustained as long as there was magic power.

The key to this spell wasn't the chariots, but the flames of sunlight they left behind, which could harm enemies while protecting their own people.

And these flames were devastating to shadow creatures.

The instant the Yadaliate caught fire, every shadow creature that had climbed aboard burst into flames.
