The first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the mess scattered across the room.
An expensive custom-made dress had been tossed over the chandelier. Half the bedsheet trailed onto the floor, while the blanket was bunched up in a ball like a cocoon in the corner of the bed.
Krillin opened his eyes, feeling refreshed.
That was another hidden perk of the Saitama Template: boundless energy.
No matter how intense the "training" had been the night before, he still woke up the next morning feeling like a fully charged battery, without a trace of fatigue.
He glanced at the "cocoon" beside him. Bulma was still fast asleep, several suggestive red marks visible on her bare shoulder.
She was sleeping deeply, her breathing steady. Clearly, last night's Human Creation Project had left her completely exhausted.
Krillin got out of bed as quietly as he could, careful not to wake her.
He stepped onto the balcony and took a deep breath of the fresh morning air.
Although he no longer needed to breathe to survive, he still enjoyed this feeling of being alive.
"System, report the data," he silently intoned.
[Ding! Krillin raised an eyebrow.
He'd gained 500 points of strength in just one night?
That was faster than a whole day of training in the Gravity Room!
It seemed that as enjoyable as this was, it also gave his strength a very real boost.
"What are you grinning about?"
A lazy voice came from behind him.
Krillin turned around to see Bulma standing by the sliding door in an oversized men's shirt, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
The shirt hung loosely on her, giving her an entirely different kind of sex appeal.
She walked a little awkwardly, clearly worn out from the night before.
"Good morning, Mrs. Bulma." Krillin walked over and naturally slipped an arm around her waist. "I was thinking about what we'll name our child."
Bulma yawned and rested her head against his chest, her voice soft and sleepy.
"I've decided. If it's a boy, we'll name him Trunks. If it's a girl... Hmm, we can think of something later."
"..."
Krillin thought, There's no way I'm letting her name him that.
She suddenly lifted her head and eyed Krillin suspiciously.
"By the way, yesterday you said it was 'to prepare for a crisis in the future.' What crisis?"
"King Piccolo has already been driven away by you, hasn't he? With your strength, is there anyone left on Earth who can match you?"
The smile faded slightly from Krillin's face.
He gazed at the distant sky, his expression turning solemn.
"Bulma, do you think we're alone in the universe?"
"Of course not. That guy Piccolo is an alien, isn't he?" Bulma scoffed.
"Right. But there are beings far more terrifying than Piccolo."
Krillin's voice was grave.
"Goku... isn't actually from Earth either."
"Huh?!"
Bulma was instantly wide awake, her eyes wide as saucers.
"What are you talking about?"
"He has a tail, an enormous appetite, and transforms into a Great Ape on nights with a full moon... Wait."
Bulma's voice grew quieter. As a genius scientist, she simply hadn't considered that possibility before.
Now that Krillin had pointed it out, all the clues suddenly fell into place.
"That's right. He's a Saiyan, a warrior from a race that specializes in conquering and selling planets."
Krillin's revelation was astonishing.
"And before long, members of his race will come to Earth looking for him.
Every one of those guys has the power to destroy the planet."
Bulma's expression changed. She clutched Krillin's shirt tightly, her knuckles turning pale.
"Th-Then what do we do? Does Goku know?"
"He doesn't know yet. For now, don't tell anyone. That blockhead only cares about eating and training."
"Let him relax for a while and get some proper rest."
Krillin patted her back reassuringly.
"But don't worry. This is exactly why I wished for strength and why I've been training so hard."
He raised a fist and clenched it in the sunlight.
"No matter whether it's Saiyans or some emperor of the universe, if they dare to ruin my life or hurt you..."
"I'll punch them into dust."
His words brimmed with absolute confidence.
It wasn't blind arrogance, but the calm assurance of someone whose strength could back it up.
Bulma looked at the man without a nose and suddenly felt completely safe.
This was the man she had chosen.
He might seem like a bit of a clown most of the time, but when it mattered, he was more reliable than anyone.
"In that case..."
Bulma's eyes shifted, and a sly smile appeared on her face.
She rose onto her tiptoes and breathed against Krillin's ear.
"If the enemy's that powerful, then for the sake of peace on Earth, should we... put in a little more effort?"
