Ptoo! Ptoo! Ptoo!
Leon spat out the hard object stuffed in his mouth and used his hand to emit a faint light. Only then did he see that mixed in with the food was a pure gold ring studded with gems!
On the Red Line, he had gambled everything by unleashing a self-destructive blast using all his Nuclear Energy.
Its terrifying force had directly forced back the Five Elders, and he seized the chance to transform back into human form, leaping off the Red Line and successfully escaping Mary Geoise.
In midair, Leon had passed out from exhaustion, only waking when hunger gnawed at his stomach.
Unexpectedly, though the place he found himself in was dark and lightless, it was overgrown with wild roasted meat!
At first, Leon stuck to a cautious approach, only taking a small bite.
One bite in, and Leon was pleasantly surprised to find that this wild roasted meat was anything but ordinary.
Tasted like chicken, crunchy, with nutrients dozens of times richer than beef.
No wonder this was the world of the Pirate King—even a place like this had such things!
This was Leon's first meal since crossing over, and once he started feasting, he eventually couldn't even be bothered to chew, only stopping when his belly was stretched taut and bulging.
After his fill, Leon collapsed blissfully onto the soft ground.
This place was paradise!
Leon's paradise became the nightmare of a passing snake-shaped Sea King.
Not particularly bright, it had happily gorged itself and even swallowed something especially tasty, though it gulped it down whole without tasting much.
But maybe it was just its imagination—it felt like its body was growing warm.
That joy didn't last long, though, before its stomach suddenly churned violently.
Its instincts drove it to flee back home—the Calm Belt.
Unfortunately, this enemy came from within, and what's worse, whatever was inside it seemed to exert an incredibly powerful pull on Sea Kings.
At first, only the nearest few Sea Kings were stirred up, but after a scuffle, the commotion grew too loud. Gradually, all the Sea Kings in the surrounding waters were drawn in, plunging into chaos as they bit and tore at each other for no reason.
Until a warship arrived...
Leon, trapped inside the Sea King's belly, was dizzy from the sudden, violent tossing and turning.
Only then did he realize that the so-called soft ground was actually the flesh of some unknown creature.
He was stuck inside the belly of some giant beast!
At a loss, Leon simply picked a spot and started digging with both hands.
Under the watch of the Marines on the warship, the massive snake-shaped Sea King thrashed on the surface in its death throes, finally letting out a reluctant, mournful cry before its head slumped heavily down.
Then a youth, drenched in blood, leaped out from its belly!
Seeing the light of day for the second time, Leon let out an excited roar to the sky, then turned his head and saw the stunned crowd on the nearby warship...
"So you're saying you went out to sea alone to fish, got swallowed by this Sea King, and survived by eating its flesh?"
Sengoku eyed the mysterious youth before him with a scrutinizing gaze. The wounds on this strange boy didn't look like anything a Sea King could cause...
"Yep, yep."
"Where's your hometown?"
"Skull Island."
"Huh? Is there such a place?"
"There is, there is. It's pretty isolated, not many people, but lots of monkeys."
"And your parents?"
"I'm an orphan."
Sengoku nodded, suspicion deepening in his eyes. Beside him, Garp was growing impatient.
"Sengoku, you're too tense. He's just a kid!"
"What's your name?"
"Leon."
"Alright, Leon kid, have you eaten?"
"I have..."
"Can you eat more?"
"Sure."
"Then that's settled. Let's go eat!"
Garp laughed loudly, ignoring Sengoku as he dragged Leon toward the kitchen.
Inside the kitchen, the Marines who had already finished their meal didn't hurry to leave. Instead, they stared in horror at the two human-shaped monsters hunched over the dining table.
Plate after plate of food was passed up, only to be devoured instantly.
Only when Leon grabbed the last large bone, shoved it whole into his mouth, and spat out the clean bone did the meal finally come to an end.
It wasn't that they couldn't eat more—it was that all the stored provisions on the warship had been devoured by the two of them.
Fortunately, they had just caught many Sea Kings, so there was no food crisis...
"It's been a long time since I've eaten this full!"
Garp burst into laughter again. At first, it was just a simple meal, but who knew this kid could eat like a perpetual motion machine...
Could I, Hero Garp, really lose to a kid?
Garp started secretly competing with Leon, only stopping when no more food was brought out.
Garp's bulging belly visibly deflated at a speed the naked eye could follow.
Was this the ultimate secret of mastering the Six Powers—Life Return?
Leon looked at Garp with envy, then, at Garp's gesture, followed behind him with his own belly sticking out.
The two arrived at the ship's medical room, where Garp found a clean bed and lay down on it with practiced ease.
