Phil Coulson and his group were driving those HYDRA agents to S.H.I.E.L.D. Since there had already been a case of someone poisoning himself and committing suicide, Coulson had removed the poison from these HYDRA agents' teeth. In other words, the bound HYDRA agents had lost the ability to kill themselves.
This eased Coulson's mind somewhat. However, looking at these people, he felt that getting the information they wanted from them would not be easy. After all, Crossbones was a mid-level S.H.I.E.L.D. officer and the commander of the Rapid Response Special Forces, someone with real authority. It was just that, considering everything that had happened, Coulson felt that something was off. He suspected that there might be a mole from another force hiding in S.H.I.E.L.D. within this vehicle, so it was better not to say anything that could be left unsaid.
