Back on the Tiannan Continent, Luo Yi had enjoyed killing demons and was good at harvesting Energy Points from them, but he had never been one to charge in blindly.
Perhaps the Human Race and demons dealt with each other differently in the outside world.
Better watch first and decide whether to make a move.
Luo Yi watched two walking bundles of Energy Points sway before his eyes. Only after reassuring himself for a long while did he manage to force down his urge to kill.
Meanwhile, the two demons stared at the Invitation thrown their way, murderous intent boiling in their eyes.
But after Steward Gao announced who she was, and they got a clear look at her face, everything changed.
The murderous intent vanished. Delighted smiles spread across their faces, and they bellowed, "An immortal from the Heavenly Star Sect has graced Qingling Ravine with her presence! Please, come in!"
As if deciding that was not respectful enough, both demons dropped to their knees without hesitation and kowtowed.
"Ahem. That's enough. Take me to your master," Steward Gao ordered, feigning a cough. She was clearly pleased by their display.
The demons' deafening cries carried into Qingling Ravine. From within its Cave Abode, where a stream wound among strange rocks, came a sudden flurry of footsteps.
One bizarre-looking figure after another poured out from the depths of the Cave Abode.
Grinning with delight, they cupped their hands toward Steward Gao, showing none of the airs one might expect from Great Vehicle demons.
"We didn't know Steward Gao of the esteemed Heavenly Star Sect was coming. Forgive us for failing to welcome you properly."
At the back of the crowd, an even larger demon with shifty eyes craned its neck out of the Cave Abode. The sight was rather comical.
