Function

Energy Points are recorded by Luo Yi's system panel and can be allocated directly to techniques, skills, traits, and certain panel functions. At their first appearance, each point increased skill progress by ten points. 29

When allocated to cultivation techniques, the points manifest as starlight-like energy that enters Luo Yi's body, supplies qi, blood, or spiritual energy appropriate to the technique, and can force breakthroughs that ordinary training would require months or years to achieve. 70 135 224

For martial skills, allocation can also impart extensive practical knowledge and memories of training. Raising the Ghost God Blade to Perfection, for example, flooded Luo Yi with years of accumulated cultivation experience and improved his broader understanding of Martial Dao. 266

Destroying a Bloodshadow Man-Eating Flower's fruit did not grant Luo Yi any Energy Points, showing that not every demonic or supernatural target qualifies for a reward. 528

Trait fusion

Energy Points can combine compatible traits into stronger forms.

• Tiger Back + Bear Waist — 50 points merged the traits into Tiger Back Bear Waist, a martial-bone trait that greatly improves bodily strength and martial aptitude. 70
• Black Scale Muscle Changing Method + Red Python Muscle Changing Method — 50 points created Two Dragons Form, improving Luo Yi's Bone Frame to a mid-grade martial bone. 110

System functions

Energy Points can unlock panel functions in addition to cultivation.

• Spirit-Testing Stone absorption — Luo Yi spent 50,000 points to add a Spiritual Root display function to the system panel. 794
• Technique recording and acceleration — Even techniques too obscure for Luo Yi to fully understand can be recorded by the panel, then advanced through Energy Point allocation. 602

Resource Limitations

Energy Points are not always sufficient by themselves. Cultivating Yin Spirit and Golden Body Divine Appearance techniques also requires Incense Wish Power; the panel can refuse an upgrade despite Luo Yi possessing enough Energy Points if the necessary Incense Wish Power is unavailable. 584

The required amount rises dramatically with Luo Yi's cultivation level. Early breakthroughs cost tens of points, while Heavenly Human and Refining Void advancements can consume hundreds of thousands or millions. 70 567 813

During an upgrade, Luo Yi sees starlight around himself, but observers in the same room showed no sign of noticing it when he perfected the Five Elements Technique. 246

At Void Refinement Pinnacle, Luo Yi could not put his substantial reserve to its intended use until he found a suitable treasure to anchor his Dao Palace. Later, the demands of Immortal Arts again outstripped his reserves: after reaching Great Accomplishment in the Stellar Body Forging Art, its next upgrade required 400 million points. 910 1356

An upgrade can also tax Luo Yi's ability to absorb the knowledge it grants. Improving Tianyan Forty-Nine to Minor Accomplishment nearly overwhelmed his mind, leading him to recognize the danger of raising an art far beyond his cultivation. 1079
