Mia set the steaming food in her hands on the table. She looked to be in her thirties or forties, with a broad, sturdy build and a hearty, welcoming personality. She looked at Hestia and Bell and began to speak.
"I'm Mia Grand. I used to be an Adventurer, more or less. That little brat Wood is the kid I found at the entrance to the Dungeon.
"I never wanted him to become an Adventurer, but I never thought he'd end up taking that path anyway. As his mother, all I can do is ask you to bear with my idiot son."
At Mia's words, Hestia and Bell sat across from her, as stiff and nervous as elementary school students, and repeatedly insisted there was no need to worry.
Bell was a complete rookie, and his personality was as timid as a rabbit's. It was perfectly understandable that he'd feel intimidated by Mia's overwhelming presence.
What was strange was Hestia. She was a goddess who had lived for over a hundred million years. No matter how badass Mia had been as an Adventurer, Hestia shouldn't have been so nervous.
Yet, faced with Mia, Hestia looked like a girlfriend meeting her boyfriend's parents for the first time. Her expression was terribly tense.
"Hestia, Bell, don't be so nervous. Mia and Anya are all good people.
"I owe a lot of my current strength to the things I secretly learned from them."
