Shunsui Takes It Easy
After leaving the First Division, Tsuna suddenly realized that he had nowhere to go for the time being. The appearance of Sojiro Kusaka had disrupted many plans. A large number of Bleach had been sent out to find Toshiro, and they would not be back for a while due to Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's orders.
After thinking for a moment, Tsuna decided to go to the 8th Division. Now that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto had handed over many of his tasks to Kyōraku, the 8th Division, as the intelligence unit, was the most well-informed place.
Going to the 8th Division would be fun, and Shunsui Kyōraku wouldn't be difficult to get along with. After making his decision, Tsuna headed towards the 8th Division.
"What? Your captain is seriously injured?"
At the entrance to the 8th Division, Tsuna learned from a member that Shunsui Kyōraku was seriously injured. What the hell? Could someone really be capable of seriously injuring Shunsui Kyōraku at this time?
The incident occurred last night. After Shunsui Kyōraku finished researching, he was ambushed in an alley and stabbed three times. He was rushed to the Fourth Division for emergency treatment, leaving behind a large amount of ice crystal fragments at the scene.
After understanding the situation, Tsuna's expression became quite interesting. It was obvious to anyone with a brain that the ice crystal shards were meant to frame Toshiro.
Tsuna was well aware of the strength of the man who Kusaka Toshiro, Kusaka. There was no possibility that he used the King's Seal when he attacked Kyōraku, because with the spiritual pressure of the King's Seal, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto would definitely have noticed it as soon as it was taken out.
In other words, Kusaka single-handedly defeated Shunsui Kyōraku, despite his incredibly weak Hyōrinmaru?
Tsuna couldn't help but laugh at the thought. It was already a good thing that Shunsui Kyōraku, that old coin, didn't scheme against others; how could he possibly be schemed against by Kusaka? Tsuna didn't believe it for a second.
The only explanation is that Shunsui Kyōraku has gone to sea. As for why he went to sea, he's probably been too busy lately and just wanted to take a break.
No wonder when they were in the First Division, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto didn't give Kyōraku any points at the same time. He must have already guessed Kyōraku's little scheme. The master and apprentice saw through it but didn't say anything.
Tsuna turned around and headed towards the Fourth Division. Kyōraku's antics were quite something, causing Tsuna to break his principle of not joining the Fourth Division.
"Sawada- Sawada-sensei?" As soon as Tsuna entered the Fourth Division, he encountered Hanatarō, who was timid and looked resentful.
Because of Toshiro, the Vice-Captain's training camp has been temporarily suspended, and Hanatarō can temporarily return to the Fourth Division. The reason he is resentful is that Tsuna personally selected his spot for the training camp, and the training camp is really too tiring!
"Shh!" Tsuna glanced around, then quietly slipped to Hanatarō's side and whispered, "If you didn't see me, don't say I was here..."
"But..." Hanatarō wasn't a liar; if someone questioned him, he would quickly reveal his secrets.
"No buts, unless you want special treatment from me!"
Tsuna gave a slight threat, Hanatarō immediately made a gesture to shut up. This special attention was undoubtedly going to increase his individual training volume during the training camp. Weighing the two options, Hanatarō chose to keep quiet.
Seeing that Hanatarō was so cooperative, Tsuna asked with satisfaction, "Which room is Captain Kyōraku in?"
Hanatarō remained silent, pointing in a direction. He dared not take Tsuna there; the more people who saw it, the less he could keep the secret. He had decided to go back to his room and spend the day there.
"Thank you." After leaving those words, Tsuna continued his infiltration. With his strength as a backup, he managed to hide himself and was not discovered by the other members.
"Little Nanao, I want to eat an apple."
"Please peel it for me."
"Ah~ Doesn't Little Nanao want her teacher to recover quickly? Ah~"
Before even entering the room, Tsuna could hear Kyōraku teasing Nanao in various ways. Just as he suspected, Kyōraku was faking his death; his injuries weren't serious at all.
With a whoosh, Nanao, unable to resist any longer, opened the door to the room, only to bump into the furtive Tsuna. Her good manners prevented her from calling out to him, but Tsuna covered her mouth and pushed her back into the ward.
After Tsuna quietly closed the door, Kyōraku complained, "Tsuna- kun, can't you be a little more polite? Little Nanao is a girl, after all."
"Come on, you glasses addict." Tsuna glanced at Nanao, whose face was flushed, and kicked Kyōraku in the leg, asking, "I heard you were attacked? You're not dead yet, are you?"
"Ouch! If you use any more force, I'm really going to get into trouble," Kyōraku said, feigning exaggeration.
"Alright, stop pretending in front of me. Even Old Man Yamamoto tacitly agreed to let you rest." Tsuna said irritably, "I don't believe that Sojiro Kusaka could have injured you like this."
"Tsuna- kun knows about Kusaka?"
Kyōraku became interested, and on the night Toshiro defected, he and Nanao investigated Toshiro's past overnight, only to discover the name Kusaka. That same night, Kyōraku was attacked by Kusaka when he returned home.
"It was all told to me by Hachi. The person involved definitely knows more than you. And that Kusaka also tricked me." Tsuna briefly shared the situation with Kyōraku.
"Captain Hitsugaya went to your place? No wonder the old man withdrew his orders." Even though he was in the Fourth Division, Kyōraku's information network was still excellent. He then looked at Tsuna with a strange expression. "Did he hold back too? How could he have taken a hit from that guy?"
Clearly, Kyōraku also underestimated Kusaka's strength; the injuries on his body were entirely self-inflicted.
Similarly, Unohana Retsu realized that Kyōraku was just making an excuse to rest, so she didn't even bother to reply to Kyōraku. She just casually wrapped some bandage around Kyōraku's wound and left him in the ward.
"That guy used the power of the King's Seal. It was the first time I'd seen it, and I was careless."
"He can actually use the power of the King's Seal? I really underestimated him."
Kyōraku stroked his chin and became slightly more serious. He should have left the Kusaka behind last night; it seemed like he had let a troublesome enemy escape.
Kyōraku's regret came and went quickly. After seeing the slightly embarrassed Little Nanao, whom he had teased, he decisively believed that he had done nothing wrong. Anyway, there were plenty of tall people to hold up the sky if it fell. Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, Tsuna, and the Soul King Palace —it was never his turn.
Seeing the look on Kyōraku's face—from seriousness to regret to self-hypnotized relief— Tsuna knew that this guy was about to comfortably enjoy life again.
"As the next Captain-Commander, shouldn't you be chasing after your misguided comrades and thwarting the enemy's schemes? What's with you lying in a hospital bed?" Tsuna said sarcastically.
"Come on, let whoever wants to be the Captain-Commander be it. What's the big deal if you're given the position?" Kyōraku wasn't fooled. As long as he wasn't the Captain-Commander, he could continue to live a carefree life.
"Heh, I only went to cause trouble for Kusaka because he slashed me once; I could have easily retaliated with one move."
"I'm afraid one hit and he'd be nothing but ashes, right?" Kyōraku teased.
"How's things going with Tsunayashiro?" Tsuna changed the subject; this was the real reason he came to see Kyōraku.
Speaking of this, Kyōraku's ability to instantly change his expression came into play again, adopting a serious demeanor as if facing something important. "You said we've already reassigned the guards of that sword, but the Tsunayashiro Clan has taken another step back."
"More and more outsiders belonging to the Tsunayashiro Clan are being approved to enter the Tsunayashiro Clan. They have become an impenetrable fortress. I can't even mobilize my undercover agents anymore." Kyōraku looked worried. Without contacting his undercover agents, he couldn't see what the Tsunayashiro Clan was up to.
"I think it's a good thing," Tsuna.
"Good news?"
"In your opinion, the Tsunayashiro Clan's contraction has exceeded your expectations, right?" Tsuna asked rhetorically.
"Of course, if I had known they were so united, I should have planted a few more agents," Kyōraku said indignantly.
"Do you think it's possible that the Tsunayashiro Clan has completely united as one?"
"Impossible!" How could such a large family be Isshin? The moment the denial was uttered, Kyōraku's expression changed. "You mean the Tsunayashiro Clan is being controlled?"
"If it weren't for this, how could we face the fact that you, the Captain Kyōraku, relaxed your guard over Enrakyōten?"
"Control, hypnosis, are they all Kyoka Suigetsu?"
Kyōraku quickly connected this to Aizen's ability to control people invisibly, and realized that using the Enrakyōten to copy the ability of Kyoka Suigetsu was entirely feasible.
This is troublesome. Not only did they fail to provoke conflict within the Tsunayashiro Clan, but they also unleashed an even more troublesome monster. Kyōraku is familiar with Tsunayashiro Tokinada's misanthropic nature.
Kyōraku agreed to Tsuna's suggestion at the time because he wanted to use one enemy to devour another, but now it seems he was careless.
"Don't worry, Captain Kyōraku, have your men keep an eye on the perimeter of the Tsunayashiro Clan's residence. Something should happen in the next couple of days," Tsuna said.
"You mean Tsunayashiro Tokinada will kill their own people? What's in it for him? With Kyoka Suigetsu Suigetsu's power, the Tsunayashiro Clan is already under his absolute control." Kyōraku, somewhat puzzled.
"Madmen can never be understood by common sense. Isn't gathering everyone together and wiping them out in an accident the most convenient way?"
"This..." Kyōraku wanted to refute, but he had to admit that this was exactly the kind of thing Tsunayashiro Tokinada was capable of doing.
"Even if Tokinada Tsunayashiro two days, if he found an opportunity to lure Kusaka into the Tsunayashiro Clan's territory and died unexpectedly, it would still be the same as dying."
Kyōraku raised an eyebrow, his admiration for Tsuna growing stronger. No wonder the teacher always kept an eye on Sawada Tsunayoshi. He had connections, resources, and most importantly, strength. The only downside was that he wasn't interested in power. Kyōraku was already secretly plotting how to trick Tsuna in the future.
Just as Kyōraku and Tsuna were whispering and plotting against the Tsunayashiro Clan, the door to the hospital room suddenly opened, and a gentle woman walked in.
"It seems Captain Kyōraku is alright; he can go back to his unit now."
"Oh? The famous Tsuna is here too? I thought you were going to hide forever. I wonder if you have time to have some fun with me now?"
Tsuna and Kyōraku froze, their furtive movements gone awry. No matter how careful Tsuna was, Unohana Retsu still managed to catch him sneaking into the Fourth Division.
Tsuna modified Hanatarō's training curriculum, unaware that Unohana Retsu had already developed a special potion based on his spiritual pressure.
These medicines were sprayed all over the Fourth Division along with the disinfectant. Whenever Tsuna appeared, these medicines would quickly combine with Tsuna's Reishi and then decrease, allowing Unohana Retsu to discover Tsuna's whereabouts.
"You guys chat, goodbye!" Kyōraku reacted quickly enough, hugging Nanao and then using his spiritual pressure to create a hole in the wall of the ward, and she was gone in the blink of an eye.
Tsuna was left alone, secretly plotting how to trick Kyōraku next.
