Anger
London had become a purple sea of flames, and apart from a few scattered screams, there was no sound, only a deathly desolation.
A hand emerged from a ball of purple flames. His gray suit was tattered. Under the shock of magic, the flames on his body were completely swept away. Like Hirako Shinji, Wolfgang had almost exhausted all his magic power to escape from the Purifying Flame.
Looking at the desolate sea of fire before him, Wolfgang staggered forward a couple of steps, reaching behind him towards the ball of flame beside him. If he remembered correctly, this should be the Bleach from the East Bureau that he had carried back to the city.
The Heat pain shot into his brain, and when Wolfgang touched it, the flame in front of him deflated like a punctured balloon, turning into sparks and dissipating.
Wolfgang's eyes widened in shock; the sight before him horrified him. After the purple flames dissipated, a skeleton dressed in a haori appeared before him.
Where is he? Where did that Bleach captain named Byakuya Kuchiki go?
Dead? Wolfgang rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. Thinking about the amount of magic he had used, he quickly pieced together what had happened.
Fighting against the purple flames requires magical power, or what the East Bureau calls spiritual pressure. After Byakuya Kuchiki unleashed that stunning sword strike at Satan, he had very little spiritual pressure left and was powerless to resist the flames' erosion.
The next moment, Wolfgang's head immediately turned towards the shelter. If even the Bleach from the East Bureau couldn't survive, then what about the others?
The seawater that Tatsuki had condensed with his spiritual pressure to create the refuge had long since disappeared, leaving behind clusters of purple flames, each containing a life.
Wolfgang's eyes were like the trigger of a device; the moment his gaze fell upon the refuge, the flames vanished in the blink of an eye, and one skeleton after another appeared before him.
They're all dead.
Whether they are ordinary people or Magicians, one can roughly recognize their former identities just from the fragments of clothing hanging on them.
Like a city night suddenly losing power, the flames in London began to go out one after another, and more and more skeletons appeared before Wolfgang. Whether human or dragon, they were all wiped out by Satan in one fell swoop.
Gazing at the devastating scene before him, Wolfgang suddenly felt all his strength drain away. Had London, which he had fought so hard to protect, really met such a tragic end?
"Wolfgang... Captain..."
A weak voice sounded not far from Wolfgang. Wolfgang mechanically turned his head and found that only a few captains from Reverse London were still alive.
Is Captain-level magic the only condition for surviving the flames? Wolfgang smiled sadly to himself. There aren't that many Captain-level. In all of London, there are only eight at the Corner Tip and Little Billy.
"Captain... Captain Hitsugaya... is dead?" Seeing the short skeletons beside him, Roy immediately thought of Toshiro, whom he was carrying, and his lips were tightly pursed.
"And Captain Kuchiki." Harry Sack's expression was equally complicated. He himself, who had been supported, was unharmed, but the benefactor who had saved his life had died. He didn't know how to face the people from the East Bureau.
"Could it be that we're the only ones left?" Little Billy looked at the sanctuary littered with skeletons and felt a headache coming on. If they were truly the only ones left, London might have to endure more than just Satan's wrath.
As the purple flames gradually dissipated, an orange protective shield was revealed— the Soten Kisshun, only the size of a person. At the critical moment, the spirit of the Shun Shun Rikka still managed to protect Orihime with everything it had.
The price was that two spirits exhausted their power and died, leaving only four of the Shun Shun Rikka.
Before she could grieve, Orihime frantically searched for a familiar figure until she saw a skeleton in work clothes firmly protecting a skeleton in loungewear. At that moment, she lost all her strength and collapsed to the ground.
Sawada Iemitsu and Sawada Nana died.
The sky over London was still bright and sunny, but the city itself was Hell scene.
Outside London, sensing the widespread disappearance of life within the city, Satan howled with excitement. However, no one echoed his cry; even the Dark Dragon closest to him was indiscriminately burned to death.
In the Reverse London Development Squad, through the few remaining shots, the Development Squad members also witnessed this Hell scene. The assistant slapped himself hard to force himself to come to his senses and contacted the captains who were still alive.
"Captains, let's retreat to Reverse London!"
For now, Reverse London has not suffered any harm, and there is no indication that Satan intends to enter Reverse London. Perhaps by going through Reverse London, one can actually find a way to escape.
Hearing the provocative voice of Satan in the distance, and the Development Squad's persuasion in the channel, Little Billy shut down his communication, took out a cigarette case from his pocket, tapped it in his hand, and helplessly threw the empty box away.
He'd already used up all the cigarettes inside when he first faced Satan. Little Billy nonchalantly waved his hand, "I'm going to find Satan..."
Little Billy had lost his magic; all he could do was walk towards the outskirts of London, even if it was a dead end.
Once someone started, the other captains followed in Little Billy's footsteps. Everyone in London was dead, and it seemed that all they could do was to be buried with them.
"No! Captains, let's retreat to Reverse London. We can still find a way!" The Development Squad assistant shouted in the channel, trying to persuade the captains who had made the decision to stop.
"Don't you understand yet?" Harry Sack smiled knowingly. "For us, whether we advance or retreat, it's all destruction!"
"Forward to face Satan, and die as a hero," Roy added. "Retreat, and you'll bear the wrath of Sawada-sensei as a deserter!"
All the captains noticed Orihime's panicked figure. They had no way to comfort Orihime Inoue; all they could do was risk their lives to quell the potential anger of Sawada Tsunayoshi.
With all the people from the West Bureau perished in this battle, even Sawada Tsunayoshi wouldn't feel comfortable causing trouble for the remaining people in Reverse London, right?
With this in mind, all the captains of the West Bureau tacitly headed towards Satan.
Outside London, Satan, roaring with excitement, had no intention of stopping there. He could sense that nearby, and within the city of London itself, several powerful souls awaited his harvest.
Hirako was hiding not far away, saw Satan turn his head and his smile became somewhat forced. "Really?"
Seeing himself targeted by Satan, Hirako could only force a smile. His spiritual pressure was too low for even Shikai or Flash Step; what else could he do but face death with a smile?
"We've suffered a huge loss this time..."
Hirako lay sprawled on the ground, speechless. Considering his own situation, he could roughly predict the fate of Toshiro and Byakuya. The Seireitei had lost three captains on this trip to the west—wasn't that a huge loss?
Satan didn't seem to intend to drown Hirako with a single spit. It flapped its wings at Hirako, and its massive body instantly appeared directly above Hirako.
Satan recognized Hirako as the little mouse that had tricked him, and in order to get Hirako, he decided to stomp Hirako to death.
"How stingy!"
Even though he saw through Satan's thoughts, Hirako could only helplessly accept his death. He had no strength left; keeping his eyelids open was the best he could do.
As Satan's foot grew larger in his field of vision, Hirako would still optimistically dream. "Run, Tatsuki, you absolutely can't die!"
A thunderous roar pulled Hirako back to reality from his fantasy. The arrogant Satan was sent flying by a flame shaped like a lion's head, almost the same size as him.
XXBURNER, Hirako recognized the name of the move at a glance. His expression first brightened, then turned somewhat dejected.
You arrived just in time, Tsuna, but you're too late again!
A figure with flames on its head swooped down and crashed into Satan, delivering a Burning Supernova fireball larger than its own body into Satan's arms before Tsuna headed toward the two familiar spiritual pressures.
"Tsuna!" Tatsuki's face lit up with joy, but then everything went blurry and she was taken to Hirako's side. The scenery around them changed again, and the two were sent to a more distant place.
"What happened?" Tsuna's brows remained furrowed. After seeing the vast scorched forest, his heart was in his throat, and a strong sense of unease gnawed at his mind every moment.
"Satan unleashed a massive firestorm, engulfing London and the forest, affecting non- Captain-level..." Hirako couldn't bear to continue.
Tsuna looked at Tatsuki, Tatsuki stammered, "My aunt and uncle, they might..."
Tsuna's expression was so somber it could drip water. His spiritual pressure swept across London, and only a handful of people showed signs of spiritual pressure fluctuation, which strongly suggested that his parents were likely dead.
At this moment, Satan also broke free from the fireball suppression of the Burning Supernova. He roared in Tsuna's direction, a signal that he was expressing his anger.
Tsuna disappeared from Tatsuki's sight. Although he really wanted to enter London City, he couldn't do so yet. His two friends were still there, and he had to protect them first.
With a soaring dragon in his left hand and a roaring lion in his right, Tsuna, having Beyond Bankai in his Sky Form, engaged in a fierce battle with Satan, accompanied by two companions. Tsuna held the upper hand on the field, but he was also becoming increasingly alarmed as the fight progressed.
Despite his inner rage, Tsuna had to admit that the evil dragon known as Satan was so powerful that no one other than someone who Beyond Bankai could possibly be his match.
The fall of London was not accidental. Within London, including the Bleach of the East Bureau, no one had truly reached a level Beyond Bankai.
Even if Tsuna himself were to take action now, it would still take quite a while.
The orange Sky Flame continued to tumble in the sky outside London. Every collision between Tsuna and Satan caused a huge tremor in the air. The ground had already been shaken away by them. It wasn't that Satan had destroyed the surrounding environment in advance; the two of them working together were practically demolition efficiency workers.
