Where was he supposed to find True Dragon Bloodline?

Pick some Dragonseed from the Dragon Guard?

Impossible!

After the Tragedy of Summerhall, the family had dwindled. No one had sown any seed, and the Dragonseed on Dragonstone had been separated by who knew how many generations. Their dragon blood was thin beyond measure.

It was hard enough to find a few silver-haired Dragonseed.

Who on Dragonstone still possessed True Dragon Bloodline?

Daeron lowered his head and remained silent. Within the shell no one noticed, a ball of fire slowly gathered in his chest.

A moment later.

"Prince, what are you doing?!"

Ser Jon cried out in alarm.

He had been the most concerned about Daeron's condition. While standing guard, he glanced back and saw a sight that made his heart leap into his throat.

"What happened?"

Barristan and Davos both turned around.

The next second, Daeron wore no expression as he strode toward the bonfire, tearing open his collar and shrugging off his outer garment.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The flames surged with the wind, their fierce tongues seeming to drive him back.

Daeron remained unmoved. He drew a dagger and sliced open both palms, bright red blood falling in droplets.

"You want true dragon blood? Take it!"

There was a hint of madness in his voice, but the last of his reason held sway, remembering his great dream of bringing dragons back into the world.

What Daenerys could do—

He, Daeron Targaryen, could do as well!

If The Unburnt was favored by fate, then before The Unburnt had been born, he would take her place.

Blood and Fire Are One!!

Daeron chanted inwardly and stepped into the flames.

"Prince!!"

Everything happened too fast. The three present were frantic, yet none had time to stop him.

Ser Jon stood frozen in shock.
