"Change, patterns."

Immersed in the mysteries of the Space-Time Channel, Entropy suddenly grasped, at this moment, an even deeper mystery he had never encountered since becoming the highest-ranking commander of the Superhumans.

Everything was changing, even so-called patterns.

Any time, any place, any living being, any pattern...

They were merely patterns that a living being had summarized after studying and observing a certain area at certain points in time. They represented only the patterns recognized by that living being within that area and at that point in time.

Patterns were constantly changing.

Their changes stemmed from longer stretches of time, broader expanses of space, more intelligent living beings, and explorations and conclusions from more perspectives.

There was no eternal, unchanging truth in the world, so everything was constantly changing.

What was tragic, however, was that living beings formed all their explorations and understanding of the outside world on the foundation of ingrained views that were almost a matter of faith.

For example, the gods; science; the Heliocentric Theory; the theory of universal entropy increase and heat death; the Big Bang creation of the universe...

These ingrained views were the foundation of living beings' exploration of the outside world, the source of their motivation to advance, and the encouragement they received as they grew.

Yet once a living being discovered that all its former understanding had been wrong—that it was merely ingrained knowledge limited to a certain period and a certain region of space, rather than genuine laws and patterns—then the source of motivation that had once driven it forward would become an obstacle to entering an entirely new stage, shackles on its progress, and a prison for its understanding.

For example, it did not conform to the Divine Decree. It was unscientific...

At this moment.
