Two years later.
"Finally, I'm back!"
When Bailan returned to these familiar waters by following the coordinates, she was so overwhelmed with emotion that she could barely contain herself. Curled up inside the Super-Pure Water Flying Device, her body trembled uncontrollably. She was simply too excited.
No outsider could understand the loneliness and anguish of exploring the dark coordinates all by herself.
This was the Gem Sea region near the Storm Continent.
Although the Gem Sea was still a distant, hard-to-reach place for ordinary people, it was far too close for Bailan, who had spent years flying day and night through the ocean with Curvature Space technology in search of a vague set of coordinates. It was practically right next to the Wasteland, and could almost be called an inland sea within it.
Beyond this lay the Academic World's Curvature Reef region.
Even someone of Bailan's standing in the Academic World knew only that it was a defensive zone the Academic World was continuously building and improving. It was meant to stop outsiders from sneaking into the Wasteland through Shallow Curvature Space. Like the dense reefs near a shallow bay, it could cause a seafarer's demise at any moment.
With a pop,
the Super-Pure Water Flying Device returned from Shallow Curvature Spacetime to reality.
From here on, she could only fly slowly back to the Wasteland.
Two months later.
At the top of the High Tower of the Grand Natural Sciences Academy, only Reilo and Bailan were in the secret chamber. Bailan vividly described what she had seen and experienced, giving detailed accounts of the Flowing Sand Civilization, where she had nearly died, and of her mission target, the Tidal Civilization.
Perhaps because she had gone so long without anyone to talk to, Bailan spoke for two full hours
