Nikola could vaguely sense that even before his mentor had weakened, at the peak of his power, he would have been slightly inferior to the Destroyer before them.
No—perhaps there was a vast difference.
Compared with the Destroyer they had just sealed, this one's power was far more restrained. It had a beauty to it, as though violent aesthetics had merged with a natural state of mind.
He was no mere High God. He had already touched the threshold of manifesting a Level Five Law, and stood at the peak of Level Four.
Nearby, the Frost Sorcerer drew a deep breath, calming the energy churning inside him after he had cast several powerful spells in quick succession.
Without another word, he tossed the hide scroll in his hand to Nikola.
"Take it back."
Nikola's eyelid twitched.
"Together, we might be able to fight this Destroyer, strong as he is. I don't agree with your plan."
He had actually challenged the Frost Sorcerer's order to his face.
"Idiot! Are you lying to yourself?"
The Frost Sorcerer's voice was grim. "Can't you see the difference between this one and the last? It's like heaven and earth. Even if we could hold him off for a little longer, so what? How long do you think this makeshift battlefield can keep these Destroyers at bay?"
As he spoke, he gazed at Nikola with deep affection and reluctance. In the end, both gave way to resolve.
"Don't forget our mission, or the promise you made me back then. We must make sure this land never falls into another Ice Age."
"I... understand!"
As the Frost Sorcerer's disciple, Nikola held his mentor in great respect.
Not only because his mentor was old and learned, but because of his will. He had witnessed with his
