Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Destruction Mode | 174 260 | An individual can form incomplete energy armor and release condensed life energy; its duration is limited where ambient energy is scarce. |
| Potential Overdraft — second stage | 900 935 947 | Heightens combat power substantially; even a Level 2 Destroyer can contend directly with a Level 3 creature after two overdrafts. |
| Potential Overdraft — third stage | 900 941 957 | Known to Scholars as the “primal instinct state.” The Destroyer loses most rational thought and fights through cellular instinct. |
| Potential Overdraft — fourth stage | 938 | Rage reaches this state in rapid succession, approaching Reilo’s former peak power. |
| Potential Overdraft — fifth stage | 922 1092 | Bloodboil burns out after four overdrafts; sustaining five is considered exceptional. Rage can enter its fifth layer while retaining sanity. |
| Potential Overdraft — sixth stage | 900 950 | A legendary rebirth-through-self-destruction state associated with reaching Level 6; Rage activates its sixth potential state during battle. |
| Ninth potential burn / Galaxy Roar creation | 924 | The ancient chieftain Galaxy allegedly reached nine potential burns, briefly touched Level 6 power, and forged the Galaxy Roar before burning out. |
Background
Before their subjugation, the Destroyers fought as a nomadic mercenary people for various employers. The arrival of the Ancient Ones ended this independence, turning them into the Ancient Civilization’s combat force and enforcers. Their masters provide advanced transport and war technology, dictate strategic targets, and rely on the Destroyers to eliminate surviving enemies and scattered strongholds after large-scale Cataclysms. 899 912
The Destroyers invaded the Academic World after Magnetic Pole presented it as a developing civilization that needed to be eliminated. Clan leader Liyou formally declared war under Destroyer duel etiquette, granting the Academic World one month before the extermination campaign began. 899 902
Their invasion rapidly broke the first defensive line through Taigu spacetime technology and Lava Hound assaults. The force then spent more than a month sweeping occupied territories, annihilating isolated Scholars, towns, and academy cities rather than advancing directly on the Academic World’s central resistance. 905 912
Following the battles at Blue Sky Engineering Academy and X Advancement Academy, Liyou and Bloodboil were killed. Rage ultimately claimed the Galaxy Roar and became the new patriarch, allowing the Destroyers to seek reconciliation with the Academic World. The resulting peace talks produced no compensation for the Academic World. 918 929 961 962
Appearance
Destroyers are imposing, minotaur-like humanoids with muscular bodies, horns, and an overtly violent aesthetic. A captured specimen stood over two meters tall; senior figures can approach or exceed three meters. 910 929 1092
- Their bodies are commonly described as massive, angular, and heavily muscled. 174 918
- Many exhibit bull-like heads, horns, crimson eyes during battle states, and dark-red skin or blood-flame effects. 917 947
- Destruction is nearly three meters tall, with long black hair and curved horns. 929 1092
- Rage is bald, bare-chested, and distinguished by pronounced bull-like eyes. 929
Personality and Culture
Destroyer culture treats strength as justice and weakness as something beneath notice. Battlefield death against an evenly matched opponent is considered honorable, while a survivor of a life-or-death struggle may regard their wounds as a mark of glory. 899 900
They seek combat not merely to kill, but to attain the momentary sublimation of potential overdraft. This fixation makes them eager for powerful opponents and largely indifferent toward weak prey; they admire the Scholars despite the losses inflicted on their own people because the Scholars proved strong enough to earn respect. 904 912 934
Most Destroyers are poor at patience, strategy, and technology, as rage readily overwhelms their thinking. A rare minority can maintain rationality under combat stress and serve as Shadow Walkers. 904 959
Abilities & Skills
Potential Overdraft
Destroyers can overdraw stamina and life force through rage, fear, pain, and life-or-death combat. This grants escalating strength and can trigger evolutionary breakthroughs, but risks self-destruction. 900 918 931
- Emotional stimulation can induce advancement even in restrained laboratory specimens. 931
- High-stage overdraft grants immense stamina, explosive force, regeneration, and combat power beyond the individual’s normal level. 917 935
- Third-stage combatants become instinct-driven beasts with only basic friend-or-foe recognition. 941
- Repeated overdraft can burn out the user; ordinary Destroyers cannot safely replicate Rage’s rapid consecutive escalation. 922 938
Physical Combat
Destroyers specialize in direct, high-speed melee warfare. Same-rank Academic World elite Scholars lost to them at an approximate 2:8 rate during pre-war probes. 904
- They charge with cannonball-like force, leap or fly through the air, and can tear through protective barriers and armored war machines. 917 935
- Their stamina can sustain burst combat for more than a month. 957
- They possess strong regeneration; Destruction rapidly restored severe wounds while fighting the Neutron Star Battleship. 1093
- Their blood-flame layer is a defensive adaptation against the aftermath of law weapons. 960
Shadow Walkers and Shadowborn
About one in ten thousand Destroyers can restrain their rage and retain both intelligence and physical prowess. These Shadow Walkers conduct basic reconnaissance, identifying terrain and settlements for the main force. 904
- Shadowborn are mixed-blood descendants whose greater rationality historically limited their potential overdraft, leading to discrimination. 926
- Their value rose because they could map territory and gather intelligence. 926
- Destruction is a Shadowborn and one of the race’s most prominent rational combatants. 926 929
Suicidal Charge
Destroyer chieftains can share damage while charging a powerful target in sequence, stabilizing increasingly intense overdraft states and pushing one another toward higher potential. 922
- The technique can overwhelm an individual powerhouse through relentless waves of combatants. 922
- Survivors may evolve through the ordeal. 922
- It depends on willingness to accept severe casualties and self-destruction. 922
Equipment, Weapons, and Companions
- Galaxy Roar — The sacred chieftain heirloom, forged by the ancient warrior Galaxy during his ninth potential burn. It is the supreme symbol of the clan leader and cannot be used for internal tribal conflict. 924
- Destruction Armor — A second inherited item created by Destruction after absorbing properties from the Neutron Star Battleship’s hull. It merged with Rage and greatly enhanced its protection and power. 1096
- Taigu warships and Flying Devices — Ancient Civilization transport and combat technology used by the Destroyers, including spacetime travel systems and spherical aerial combat devices. Destroyers generally treat these as replaceable tools rather than technology worth studying. 900 915 940
- Rift-shatter-zone ring — A ring given to Liyou by the Ancient Ones, capable of creating rift shatter zones for large-scale destruction. Liyou regarded reliance on it as shameful. 899
- Lava Hounds — Symbiotic companions used as scouts, sentinels, sparring partners, emotional companions, charging troops, and prey-trackers. They can detect emotions and are deeply trusted by their Destroyer partners. 912 915
Notable Members
- Liyou — Former clan leader; a highly controlled fighter who led the war declaration against the Academic World and died during the conflict. 899 904 929

- Dawn — The thirty-eighth patriarch, who feared confronting the later military strength of the Academic World. 1053
Trivia
- The Destroyers detest complexity, scheming, change, and numerous other things they regard as incompatible with their direct worldview; Scholars are a notable exception because strength earns their admiration. 934
- They have no fixed homeland in the conventional sense, reflecting their history as a mobile mercenary force. 903
- Destroyers rarely use external power in personal combat, viewing reliance on it as weakness, despite having access to Ancient Civilization technology. 959
