Eighty years later.
Neither Reilo, Shura Path, nor the White Emperor had ever imagined that this mission would be so difficult or last so long.
A full eighty years had passed.
It had been nearly a century since Reilo left the Academic World.
Throughout these eighty years, Reilo and the White Emperor had almost never given up pursuing the Oracle Sorcerers. Along the way, they had wiped out more than a dozen Wind Eye tribes and made contact with several member civilizations of the Storm Continent Council. They had crossed the entire Storm Continent and then doubled back, repeatedly missing the Oracle Sorcerers by the narrowest of margins.
But there was no denying it.
Under pursuit by the council civilizations, the Oracle Sorcerers seemed to grow increasingly exhausted and overwhelmed. Then, ten years ago, Reilo and the White Emperor managed to capture some of their already meager remnants, leaving only their most elite high sorcerers to continue fleeing in utter disarray.
That had been the closest the White Emperor and Reilo had come to success.
Their near miss had not discouraged the Heavenly Silkworm Clan or the Academic World. Decades of pursuit had made them far more patient, and they swore they would complete this mission.
"Those damn Augmenters!"
The White Emperor had lost count of how many times it had cursed the Central Civilization.
It was all because of those Oracle Sorcerers. They were simply too cunning.
Nearly a century of its time had gone to waste, and it had still failed to pass the Feather Emperor's test. It had even called in favors and asked several council civilizations along their route for help. And this was only a small branch of the remnants!
No wonder they had chosen such a thorny mission to test the Academic World!
And,
