With such astonishing speed, even if Maclen had been given two more legs, he would not have escaped.
Maclen simply stopped running. As he stood where he was, he swiftly placed the Scepter of Destiny into his Spatial Ring.
The purple lightning arrived in the blink of an eye. As the radiance faded, two figures appeared before Maclen.
One was a beautiful middle-aged woman in a moon-white fitted robe, with silver hair. The other was a Purple-Haired Youth dressed entirely in black.
They were Lia and Wyatt!
After arriving, the two did not immediately speak or act when they saw Maclen clutching the ring in his hand, seemingly ready to crush it at the slightest disagreement.
They merely stood there quietly, yet the powerful aura emanating from Wyatt alone made Maclen's heart quail, and he could not help swallowing.
A few moments later, figures appeared one after another from every direction, surrounding Maclen at the very center.
Though Maclen did not want this, he had no way to stop it. Clearly, the purple streak in the sky that had been as swift as lightning had revealed his location to the other powerful experts.
"Are you people done yet? I already said it: let me leave this place immediately, or I'll crush this Spatial Ring containing the scepter! Then none of you will get that scepter!"
After roaring, Maclen raised the Spatial Ring in his hand. The Scepter of Destiny was stored within it.
Even now, he still wanted to use the same method as before to leave this place.
"Maclen, at a time like this, you're still using such a tactic to threaten us? Do you know who is standing before you? This is Lord Wyatt, a Paragon High-God!"
Maclen's words did not make the crowd retreat as they had before. Instead, among the gathered god-level experts, a dark-faced middle-aged man in a blue robe with short black hair spoke in a clear, magnetic voice.
This middle-aged man was Xilui, the lord of a city near the Tianyun Mountain Range. He possessed the strength of a Seven-Star Fate Emissary.
He had naturally come here after hearing that Wyatt had become a Paragon, hoping to find an opportunity to curry favor with this newly ascended supreme expert.
"Exactly. You're merely a High-God who refined Godhood, yet having Lord Wyatt come here personally is already enough for you to be proud of. Hand over the scepter now, and perhaps Lord Wyatt may even spare your life. But if you waste his time, do you really think you can leave this place alive?"
Once Xilui finished speaking, the other High-God experts nearby chimed in as well, their words filled with flattery toward Wyatt.
Wyatt simply listened quietly and did not hurry to speak.
"So this is a Paragon High-God?"
Maclen narrowed his eyes and secretly glanced at Wyatt, who stood quietly in the air not far away.
No wonder the group of super experts around him was so respectful toward this man. So he was a Paragon.
"I really never expected that a minor god like me would draw so many great figures to the Tianyun Mountain Range. Even a Paragon High-God has come in person. My journey from the Material Plane to the Heavenly Realm has not been in vain after all."
Maclen chuckled, then glanced at Wyatt again.
"Lord Wyatt, as a Paragon, you are already invincible among gods. I understand that if I do not hand over the scepter today, I likely will not have the chance to leave the Tianyun Mountain Range alive. How about this? Let us make a deal. If you can meet my conditions, I will give you the scepter in my hand."
It was clear that Maclen was still reluctant to part with the Scepter of Destiny. But even if he truly had to give it up, he intended to recover at least some of his losses.
"Maclen, I'll give you ten breaths to consider. Hand over the scepter, and I can give you anything you want. Wealth, beautiful women—anything, I can satisfy you. But once your time to consider exceeds ten breaths, I will personally take what I want."
Wyatt could not be bothered to respond to Maclen's words and merely spoke calmly.
Unlike Linley from the Original Time and Space, whose temper was almost frighteningly good, Wyatt had his own way of doing things.
Wyatt had reached this point through tempering himself in slaughter.
However, Wyatt was not an unreasonable man. As the Judgment Elder of the Four Divine Beasts Family and a Paragon High-God, he would not lower himself to attack directly.
Allowing Maclen to name his price was already an unimaginable favor to an ordinary god.
Upon hearing Wyatt's words, the many Heavenly Realm experts nearby felt deeply envious and wished they could replace Maclen immediately.
They only regretted that they had failed to obtain the scepter from Maclen earlier. Otherwise, perhaps they would be the ones trading with Wyatt now.
"This Paragon really speaks directly. He's letting me name any condition I want. Isn't he afraid I'll demand an outrageous price?"
Maclen frowned. He felt that he had still underestimated a Paragon's wealth. Not daring to delay, he began considering what he should ask for in exchange.
Since he could not threaten Wyatt, Maclen could only choose to trade.
A threat was only useful if it worked. He did not dare truly crush the Spatial Ring.
If he did that, Maclen would truly be doomed to die.
He had only enjoyed a few days in the Supreme Plane. He did not want to die here.
Ten breaths was not a long time, but for a god, it was not short either.
After thinking for a moment, Maclen finally spoke.
"My lord, I heard that Sovereign's Might can greatly increase a god's strength. Although Sovereign's Might may not improve me as much as this scepter would, since you have spoken, it would not be right for me to keep it. How about this? I only want one hundred drops of Sovereign's Might, along with one trillion Heavenly Crystals. Then the scepter will be yours, my lord!"
Heavenly Crystals were the currency of the Heavenly Realm, equal in value to Hell's Mo Stones.
One hundred drops of Sovereign's Might and one trillion Heavenly Crystals were already a fortune beyond Maclen's imagination. As he said those words, he even felt that he was asking for far too much.
Upon hearing Maclen's request, the other Heavenly Realm experts felt their teeth itch.
One hundred drops of Sovereign's Might? Maclen actually dared to say that?
Most of the experts present were Seven-Star Devils. How many of them even possessed a single drop of Sovereign's Might?
Maclen naturally did not know that the value of a single drop of Sovereign's Might vastly exceeded one trillion Heavenly Crystals. But to him, one trillion was already an astronomical figure.
"Oh, right. My lord, you'll also need to have experts from the Four Divine Beasts Family escort me safely to the Plane Teleportation Array in the Heavenly Realm. Otherwise, I won't be able to evade the pursuit of so many powerful experts."
Remembering something else, Maclen glanced at the covetous experts around him and said with a smile.
Maclen was not stupid. He estimated that one hundred drops of Sovereign's Might would be enough to provoke a mad pursuit from the super experts before him.
"No problem."
This small request naturally meant nothing to Wyatt. Obtaining a Supreme God Token with so little in exchange was an enormously profitable deal for him.
Without even thinking about it, Wyatt agreed directly.
He took out a Spatial Ring and casually tossed it toward Maclen.
"Could it be that I asked for too little?"
Seeing how readily Wyatt agreed, Maclen was slightly stunned. It seemed that he had gained an entirely new understanding of a Paragon's wealth. But he had already stated his conditions, so it would not be appropriate to change them now.
Gritting his teeth, he looked at the Spatial Ring in his hand, then tossed the Spatial Ring containing the Scepter of Destiny toward Wyatt.
