Blood-red aberrant creatures wreathed in gray mist crawled up from the ocean, and once ashore, they all twisted toward Ji Xinghe.
Ahead, Little Sand had taken root outside the wooden fence. The aberrant creatures seemed unable to see it, all writhing toward the shelter.
Little Sand's branches thrashed wildly, slamming hard at the aberrants beneath the tree.
But it didn't kill them—it left them barely alive. Little Vine's tendrils then finished the job, claiming the monsters.
Little Sand hadn't formed a contract with her, so the kill points from the aberrants didn't go to her.
That was why the two little ones had developed this kind of teamwork.
Ji Xinghe's peripheral vision caught the two working in perfect sync, and a smile unconsciously tugged at the corners of her lips.
Suddenly, a bone-chilling cold surged from behind. Before she could react, a massive shadow engulfed her!
She looked up. A colossal aberrant creature circled overhead.
Its sharp, bloodthirsty gaze locked onto her with wild intensity, as if she were some rare delicacy driving the bird mad!
Ji Xinghe's eyes sharpened, her expression turning serious. "Little Vine, keep an eye on that one up there. Pull it down if you get the chance."
With that, she released a single-handed attack mode of Purification.
A dazzling beam of white light shot toward the aberrant circling in the sky.
[Hit monster, target HP -126]
The aberrant let out a piercing shriek as it was struck.
White smoke rose from its black-red feathers. It swayed violently in the air, as if scalded.
Perfect timing. Ji Xinghe glanced briefly at the monster's detail panel while gently patting Little Vine.
Little Vine's tendrils shot up into the sky, locking tightly around the monster the moment they touched it, yanking downward with force.
Then, suddenly, things went wrong!
The monster pecked off the wounded flesh with its sharp beak. Black-red blood dripped from above, splattering across the island.
It flapped its wings wildly, its beak hammering at the tendrils like a machine gun. The tendrils snapped off in chunks.
Cold green fluid oozed out, dripping onto Ji Xinghe's face.
She wiped her forehead. The green liquid in her hand reflected her icy gaze!
The skill at her fingertips was ready to strike.
After firing a small Light Orb, she raised the Star Feather Crossbow and sprayed at the monster's eyes.
The wooden arrows were coated with Mist Heart Juice. Under the slowing effect, more and more arrows lodged into the monster.
The creature, now bristling like a hedgehog, finally lost its strength to resist Little Vine. In moments, Little Vine's tendrils dragged it down.
Bam. Its massive body crushed several aberrants beneath it.
Seeing this, Ji Xinghe rushed in to finish them off.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
[Killed Tier 2 Level 10 Aberrant, EXP +5, Limited-Time Points +30.]
[Decompose?]
"Phew, finally dead." Tier 2 monsters had thick skin and high HP, making them poor value—far worse than farming lower-level ones.
She still preferred the lawnmower-style grinding: simple, effective, high yield.
The monsters came wave after wave. Ji Xinghe counted and found the numbers consistent—thirty each time.
Once those thirty were dead, within two minutes, new aberrants would emerge from the sea.
After clearing this wave, she finally had a moment to take out fresh meat from the shelter to restore Little Vine.
She retrieved the broken wooden fence and replaced it with a new one.
Then, she opened the Limited-Time Shop.
[Limited-Time Points Shop]
[Shop Closing Countdown: 00:42:26]
[Remaining Points: 1568]
Scrolling down, she saw all kinds of goods—so abundant that even Ji Xinghe's eyes turned green with envy.

"Item 2: Light Orb (Medium)

"Item 3: Light Orb (Large)

On the last page, there was also:
"Shelter Protective Shield — Price: 999 points, Remaining: 3, Limit per person: 1"
"Random Talent Stone — Price: 9999 points, Remaining: 1"
Ji Xinghe glanced at the time. There were only ten minutes left before the Guard the Island mission ended.
She couldn't afford the Random Talent Stone, but the Shelter Protective Shield was within reach.
[Spend 999 limited-time points to exchange for a Shelter Protective Shield? Note: All items in the limited-time shop are final sale — no returns or exchanges.]
Ji Xinghe clicked to purchase, and 999 points were deducted from her account.
She took another look at the leaderboard. Her points were still in first place, though the board only showed each player's total score.
In the chat channel.
Little Fist Wangzai: "Help! Mom save me! So many monsters, aaaaaah!"
One Steamed Bun: "So terrifying. I got scratched by a Deformed Monster, and my mutation speed sped up. Luckily the limited-time shop had a Light Orb — I exchanged for one and ate it, and my mutation value recovered."
Pray for the God of Wealth's Love: "Hahaha, let me tell you, those Deformed Monsters are pathetic. The moment they touched me, they trampled themselves to death."
Player 12345: "Good thing I grabbed a Wooden Fence. With it blocking the monsters, I actually dared to fight back. [Image] Just killed one — still warm."
Heaven-Damned Survival: "Oh my god, my island is only two square meters now. These monsters came ashore, the ground cracked open, and I cracked open too! It's over, it's over — the island is sinking, I'm gonna die!"
