"Talk properly. Don't go kicking people for no reason."
Ye Qiu frowned, covered his ears, opened his eyes, and glared at Xiao Wu. Then he rolled over and closed his eyes again.
"Then hurry up and get your things together." Xiao Wu pouted at Ye Qiu as he turned away and tugged at his clothes.
"Tell me, are you going home with me or with Tang San?"
Ye Qiu rolled his eyes and turned back to look at Xiao Wu with irritation.
Xiao Wu stiffened, her gaze flickering. She pulled her little hand back and asked strangely, "What's the difference? Aren't you two from the same village?"
Ye Qiu shrugged. "Of course there's a difference. If you want to go home with Tang San, I'll be unhappy."
Xiao Wu's face began to redden. At a loss, she stammered, "W-who cares whether you're happy? I'll do what makes me happy. Hmph!"
Seeing Xiao Wu's flustered expression, Ye Qiu wore a faintly amused smile.
It seemed that the past year hadn't been wasted.
Ye Qiu slowly sat up and looked over his things before spreading his hands.
"I don't really have anything to pack, just a few sets of clothes. Why don't you help me with them?"
"What?! Don't even think about it. I'm not doing that."
"If you're willing, I'll pay you with a piece of candy. Carrot flavor. How about it?"
Ye Qiu held up his index finger and waggled it in front of Xiao Wu.
The resistance on Xiao Wu's face immediately softened.
"Really? You'd better not trick me."
Xiao Wu swallowed despite herself. Ever since she'd had to pay for the candy, she only got any at the start of the month. If she bought a lot, she couldn't control herself and soon ate it all.
"Of course. When have I ever tricked you?" Ye Qiu looked utterly sincere.
"Have you not bullied Sister Xiao Wu enough already?"
Xiao Wu blushed and rubbed her pert bottom. Her Soul Power was only a little lower than Ye Qiu's, but he was so much stronger than her that she never won when they fought.
"Who told you to never listen? And bullying you and tricking you are two different things." As he spoke, Ye Qiu reached out to pinch her aggrieved-looking cheek.
But Xiao Wu dodged him, her bashful eyes glaring at him. With a serious expression, she said sweetly, "No pinching. That'll cost extra."
"Haha, fine."
Ye Qiu spread his hands helplessly. He could only blame himself for setting a bad precedent. And the little rabbit, who wanted to satisfy her appetite, had also gotten obsessed with money.
"Then hurry up and pack. I'm going to lie down for a bit." After casually giving the order, Ye Qiu stood, stretched, walked over to Xiao Wu's bed, and lay down.
"Hmph! All you do is order Sister Xiao Wu around." Xiao Wu gave the lazy Ye Qiu a snort, then obediently climbed onto his bed and began folding his clothes.
Watching Xiao Wu behave herself, Ye Qiu wore a contented smile.
In the past year, he'd been the first to break through from level twelve to level seventeen. But after Tang San gained a Soul Ring and reached level thirteen, he had the Mysterious Heaven Skill as well, and Ye Qiu had gradually started falling behind.
Waiting was always hard. Ye Qiu was waiting for Xiao Wu to reach Soul Elder, or for his own Soul Skill to be enough to handle certain dangers, before exploring Sunset Forest near Heaven Dou City.
Instant Transmission had a limited range, but it was still a lifesaving tool. Ye Qiu wasn't about to turn it down.
At this rate, Ye Qiu could ensure his cultivation surpassed level thirty before graduating from Notting Academy. It was about time he found a chance to go out and explore, as long as he could do so safely.
While Ye Qiu was thinking, Xiao Wu had already folded all his clothes neatly. Clearly, she'd done this before; she handled it with ease. She bounced over to the bed and nudged Ye Qiu twice.
"Ye Qiu, I'm done. Hurry up and hand it over to me~"
"Is that so? Then thanks for the effort."
Ye Qiu sat up and glanced at his bed. Even the quilt had been folded, and everything was neat and pleasing to the eye.
"Don't give me that. Get up and pay Sister Xiao Wu." Xiao Wu smiled and held out her hand to Ye Qiu, wiggling her fingers.
"How about this? You owe me six Silver Soul Coins. I'll waive two since you helped me pack. How's that? I'm generous, aren't I?" Ye Qiu took the candy out of his mouth and smiled at the pretty girl, whose face was already twisting in indignation.
"How can you do that?!" Xiao Wu cried, then grabbed Ye Qiu's arm and began acting coy. "Ye Qiu~ I-I'll pay you back those Silver Soul Coins once I get my allowance."
Ye Qiu remained unmoved, and she was still trying to get out of paying.
Xiao Wu bared her teeth and glared at him. "Ye Qiu, you have to give Sister Xiao Wu something to eat today. Or else I won't let you off. Ah! Mmm~"
Seeing Xiao Wu flail at him, Ye Qiu couldn't help laughing. He indulged her by stuffing the candy in her mouth, then slipped past her and walked away.
"Ah-woo! Ptui, ptui!"
Xiao Wu whimpered and quickly took it out, turning her face to spit twice. Her face flushed bright red.
She turned to see Ye Qiu already back at his own bed and glared at him. "Ye Qiu, why did you give Sister Xiao Wu something you'd already eaten?"
"Take it or leave it. If you don't want it, throw it away. I've already waived two Silver Soul Coins for you. What more do you want, you greedy rabbit?" Ye Qiu put on a smug look, raised his eyebrows at Xiao Wu, and lay back down.
"Ah—!"
At the word "rabbit," Xiao Wu got worked up and threw the candy straight at Ye Qiu.
"Ye Qiu, Sister Xiao Wu challenges you to a duel!"
Before she'd even finished speaking,
Xiao Wu immediately lunged at Ye Qiu with her claws out.
Ye Qiu reacted quickly, casually catching the 'Hidden Weapon' she'd thrown. With both hands free, he met the furious Xiao Wu head-on.
The others still in Dorm Seven had long since gotten used to this. Xiao Wu and Ye Qiu got into little scuffles every few days. If they ever stopped, the others would feel that something was off.
Thud! Pfft!
Smack! Smack! Smack!
"Ah!"
"Ah~ Stop, don't hit me! Sister Xiao Wu knows she was wrong. I give up!"
A few dull thuds of fists and feet colliding rang out, followed by several sharp smacks. Then came the familiar cries and pleas of Sister Xiao Wu, well known to everyone in Dorm Seven.
A while later.
Ye Qiu released his Martial Soul Possession and stood by the wall, looking at the little rabbit stuck to it. He was a little out of breath, but his clothes were perfectly neat.
Xiao Wu was stuck to the wall with a web of Spider Silk. Her clothes were disheveled, and her hands were raised and bound against the wall. She twisted her burning bottom a little, tears glimmering at the corners of her eyes. Her face showed a mix of embarrassment, anger, and fear.
"Honestly, leave you alone for three days and you're climbing onto the roof."
Ye Qiu wiped his brow, though there wasn't a drop of sweat there, and couldn't help laughing at the pink rabbit who kept challenging him.
"You're the one who keeps calling me a rabbit!" Xiao Wu protested, sounding aggrieved.
Seeing Xiao Wu's resentful expression, Ye Qiu held the candy in his mouth and reached out to take her down.
"Don't hit me anymore. Sister Xiao Wu already gave up." Xiao Wu struggled and begged, afraid Ye Qiu would hit her a couple more times.
"If I wanted to keep hitting you, could you stop me?" Ye Qiu scoffed, then held the lollipop from earlier in front of Xiao Wu. "So, do you want it or not?"
"I do. I want it."
Xiao Wu blushed and nodded repeatedly, then shyly stuck out her little tongue and reached for the candy.
Ye Qiu rolled his eyes. Why hadn't she just said so earlier? He moved the candy closer.
"Ah-woo!"
Xiao Wu whimpered as Ye Qiu caught her off guard by pushing it into her mouth.
The black Spider Silk began to dissolve, and Xiao Wu dropped back to the ground. Out of habit, she leaned toward Ye Qiu, lowered her head, and obediently licked the candy. Without looking up, she muttered, "Hurry, ah~ hurry and heal Sister Xiao Wu."
"Okay!"
Wishing everyone a happy life!
