Background & History

Tang San originated from Holy Soul Village and entered Notting Academy as a work-study student. At his awakening, Su Yuntao identified Blue Silver Grass as his Martial Soul and was shocked by Tang San's Innate Full Soul Power. Tang San deliberately concealed the Clear Sky Hammer held in his left hand, following the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record's warning not to expose his full capabilities. 2 7

Yu Xiaogang deduced Tang San's Twin Martial Souls from his Martial Soul proof. Tang San initially reacted with lethal caution, preparing a silent sleeve dart, but accepted Yu Xiaogang after hearing his theory and his assertion that a Martial Soul's worth depends on its master. Tang San then kowtowed and recognized him as teacher. 6

At Seventh Dorm, Tang San defeated Wang Sheng with Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon and briefly became dorm leader. Xiao Wu defeated him immediately afterward under the dorm's challenge rule, and Tang San yielded the position without dispute. 7 8

Appearance

Tang San has black hair and has been seen in a light-blue cloth robe with a white mask during Soul Arena matches. While hiding his identity, he also wears a black robe and mask. 237 294

  • Often carries the Twenty-Four Bridge Moonlit Night storage Soul Tool at his waist. 24
  • Uses disguises and masks when evading recognition. 237 250 295
  • Activates Purple Demon Eyes in combat and while searching for threats or escape routes. 157 250 295

Personality

Tang San is guarded and calculating. He concealed his second Martial Soul from the outset, responded to Yu Xiaogang's deduction by readying a hidden weapon, and routinely evaluates escape routes when faced with stronger opponents. 2 6 250

He is intensely loyal to those he accepts as family or teacher. He defended Yu Xiaogang against criticism, endured Tang Hao's harsh treatment without complaint, and repeatedly risks himself to protect Xiao Wu. 24 157 287

His protectiveness toward Xiao Wu is entangled with jealousy toward Ye Qiu. Tang San regrets not pursuing Xiao Wu earlier, feels excluded by her closeness with Ye Qiu, and swears that anyone seeking to harm her must first step over his corpse. 51 65 67 157

In battle, Tang San is strategic but can become ruthless when cornered. He uses control techniques, hidden weapons, and deception to create openings; while fleeing the Heaven Dou wanted order, he crushed Cai Kun's legs and killed him after his identity was exposed. 189 295
