Breaking through to Daluo required using a Law as a foundation, connecting to a Dao, and condensing one's own Dao Fruit.
Ordinary Innate Sacreds like Kunpeng, unless guided by him, would mostly condense their Dao Fruit using the Dao of Wind and Water to break through to Daluo. Most Sacreds were like this—after all, with a broad highway before them, why bother seeking a small path? But Guiyuan was different.
He indeed possessed an Innate Dao as well: the Defense Dao.
With this as his foundation, he could immediately attain Daluo. Yet the Defense Dao was strong in defense but lacking in combat prowess.
If he used this as his Daluo foundation, he feared it would be difficult to change his fate.
The Daluo Dao Fruit could not be established lightly. Once condensed, the Dao would repel others, making it exceptionally hard to comprehend additional Daos.
Guiyuan sat cross-legged, sinking into thought.
Soon.
A thought flashed through Guiyuan's mind: "If I wish to attain the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal of the Origin, or become a Saint unbound by Hongjun's constraints, at the very least my own Dao cannot be weak."
"Pangu attained the Dao through the Three Thousand Laws, condensing the Dao of Strength, or what might be called the Pangu Dao. Hongjun, borrowing the Jade Plate of Creation, comprehended the Three Thousand Laws and condensed his own Hongjun Dao."
"I too can comprehend the Three Thousand Laws and condense my own 'Guiyuan' Dao. Other Sacreds might not manage it, unless they possessed fortune as vast as Hongjun's."
"But I have the accumulation of the Eternal Life Great World. The Primordial Heavenly Dao of the Eternal Life Great World, the Genesis of Gods, and even the Sect Leader's Epoch Dao were all formed this way."
"There's no reason I cannot condense this as my own Dao Fruit."
With his thoughts settled, Guiyuan rose, his eyes bright. He knew what to do. "But for now..."
"The Dao of the Eternal Life Great World differs greatly from that of the Primordial World. It's somewhat similar to how the Hundun Dao of the Ferocious Beasts repels the Primordial World's Dao, though the rejection is less severe."
"Even if I condense it, I must first comprehend the Primordial World's Dao. Otherwise, condensing based on the Eternal Life Great World's Dao will make it hard to attain the Dao."
"How do I comprehend?"
Guiyuan sat atop Changbai Mountain Peak, gazing into the distance. He saw a mountain that stood towering between heaven and earth. If Changbai Mountain was the Ancestral Vein of the north...
Then this mountain was the Ancestral Vein of the entire Primordial World.
The Pangu Pillar, Mount Buzhou.
"I will go to Mount Buzhou and use the residual reflections of Pangu to comprehend the Primordial World's Dao."
Guiyuan stood at the peak of Changbai Mountain, his gaze sweeping over this Ancestral Vein land he had initially cleansed.
With a thought, the Xuanyuan Water-Controlling Flag flew out first, its dark light shimmering as it transformed into a watery curtain that merged into his true spirit.
He then used the array he had comprehended from it, the "Xuanyuan Water-Controlling Array," to suppress the surrounding water vapor and space.
Next, he continuously used Sha Qi as roots, concealing them into the mountain veins of the surrounding peaks.
The Sha Qi connected, combining with the "Xuanyuan Water-Controlling Array" to form a fierce, murderous array that covered heaven and earth.
Within the array, Sha Qi surged, space twisted, and killing intent lurked in hiding.
An ordinary Primordial Unity Golden Immortal who stumbled in would either die or shed a layer of skin.
Having done this, Guiyuan pressed his fingers together like a brush, channeling his mana, and carved a massive "Guiyuan" Dao mark into the void.
The Dao mark radiated his unique aura, golden light blazing, declaring that this land now had an owner.
"This should be safe."
He lingered no longer. Mana surged within his body.
"Great Spacetime Technique!"
"Great Teleportation Technique!"
The Spacetime Law and Time Law vibrated simultaneously around him. Guiyuan took a single step, and his form vanished into the layered depths of the void, speeding toward the center of the Primordial World.
Toward Mount Buzhou.
The Northern Continent bordered the central region of the Primordial World, so the distance to Mount Buzhou was not vast.
For several hundred years, Guiyuan shuttled through the void, occasionally emerging to sense the changes in the world's energy.
The closer he got to the center, the richer and more vibrant the surrounding spiritual energy became, a stark contrast to the dead, oppressive feeling of the north.
Finally, after several centuries, he stepped out of the void, both feet landing on the territory of Mount Buzhou.
The moment he set foot there, Guiyuan keenly sensed the difference.
The Heavenly Dao here was exceptionally active, with Dao resonance practically permeating every wisp of air, every inch of earth.
Cultivating and comprehending here would likely be far more efficient than in any other region of the Primordial World.
"No wonder it was formed from Pangu's spine, the source of the Primordial World's Ancestral Vein," he praised inwardly.
But as he continued approaching the towering, sky-supporting main peak of Mount Buzhou, another sensation gradually became clear.
An invisible yet immensely heavy pressure slowly descended upon him.
It was as if the entire sky and the whole earth were staring at him. The deeper he went, the stronger this pressure originating from Pangu became.
"No wonder so few Innate Sacreds were born in the territory of Mount Buzhou," Guiyuan realized. "To be conceived and born under such pressure, one's Origin Foundation must be earth-shattering."
He recalled a legend from later ages—that future Saint known for creating humanity seemed to have taken form somewhere on this very Mount Buzhou.
As he traveled, traces of life were rare.
The vast territory of Mount Buzhou could only be inhabited and cultivated long-term by those at least at the Golden Immortal realm. Below that level, merely enduring Pangu's Pressure was a struggle, let alone cultivating here.
Guiyuan concealed his aura and steadily advanced toward the towering mountain that supported heaven and earth. All around was silent, save for the wind harmonizing with the Great Dao.
Suddenly—
"Boom!!!"
From far ahead, an earth-shattering explosion erupted! Violent spiritual energy clashed, carrying two completely different Dao principles that slammed into each other, forming a destructive ripple that swept outward. Wherever it passed, mountain rocks shattered and ancient trees turned to ash.
Guiyuan paused slightly and looked up. In the distant sky, treasure light shot into the heavens, dragon roars and beast howls intertwined—clearly a fierce battle was raging.
Guiyuan flickered and arrived at the battlefield. Before him, mountains crumbled and earth split as two colossal beasts fought to the death. One was covered in scales with horns on its head, its dragon cry shaking the sky. The other was draped in auspicious clouds, its hooves treading on blessed mist, its roar quaking the earth. Their physical bodies were formidable, their divine abilities clashing—both were at Mid-stage Primordial Unity.
Guiyuan raised an eyebrow. The Dragon Clan? The Qilin Clan? Already at each other's throats?
He hadn't deliberately concealed his aura, so the pressure of Peak Primordial Unity naturally emanated from him. The battling dragon and qilin both sensed it at once, and their massive beast eyes lit up with joy!
The dragon roared first, its voice shaking the wilds: "I am the direct grandson of Zulong, son of Yazi! Fellow Daoist, help me slay this stupid qilin, and the Dragon Palace will richly reward you!"
The qilin was not to be outdone, bellowing back: "I am the Qilin Clan's Crown Prince, of the Six-Unlikeness bloodline! Fellow Daoist, if you help me butcher this evil dragon, the Qilin Treasure Trove is yours to choose from!"
Both had taken Guiyuan for an ally they could recruit, offering heavy bribes.
Yet Guiyuan merely stood still in the void, watching coldly, saying nothing. Seeing him unmoved, the dragon and qilin fought even more savagely, each strike lethal, trying to display their worth before Guiyuan—or rather, force him to take a side.
After a prolonged stalemate, both grew furious. The dragon prince snarled in threat: "Hey there, Daoist! If you don't help me now, when my father arrives, I'll make sure you perish body and soul!"
The qilin also roared in anger: "Dare to stand by and watch? My clan's elders will suppress you beneath Mount Buzhou, never to be reborn for eternity!"
