Under the White Raven's guidance, Gu Su led his undead squad on a slightly longer route, avoiding the more difficult terrain, and finally arrived near the building overwhelmed by glowing vines.

Looking up, this building was worlds apart from the shopping mall the Ash Squad was scavenging.

The building before him wasn't for commercial use; it was a residential apartment complex. There were no rows of shops on the ground floor, and the building materials were extremely ordinary. The walls were mottled and peeling, with collapses and dents appearing in multiple places, exuding an air of desolation and ruin typical of the apocalypse.

Only one aspect stood out exceptionally, even overshadowing the building's decay.

A type of vine emitting a fluorescent green light had stubbornly emerged from inside the building, coiling around the entire structure like smooth silk. It climbed upwards from the base, spiraling along the walls, window frames, and pillars, dense and leaving no gaps.

Some vines dangled down, forming curtains of glowing green light that perfectly covered the shattered windows and wall indentations, emitting a soft yet eerie glow in the dim environment.

Even stranger, the vine leaves would subtly writhe with the light. The fluorescent green sap dripping from the leaf tips landed on the ground, instantly corroding small black pits. A faint, sweet, and fishy scent also drifted in the air, barely noticeable unless one sniffed carefully, yet it carried an inexplicable sense of danger.

From a distance, the glowing green light was so dazzling that it completely obscured the building's outline, as if the entire structure had been swallowed by the vines' luminescence, appearing exceptionally strange.

Gu Su narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on the glowing vines. After observing them carefully for a moment, he muttered in a low voice, tinged with confusion and surprise, "What in the world is going on?"

After a moment of thought, he no longer hesitated and decisively ordered the White Raven circling overhead, "White Raven, go check it out. Investigate the situation."

As soon as Gu Su finished speaking, a White Raven flapped its wings and flew towards the fallen building. Its movements were agile, its form light, and it quickly passed through the curtain of vines, directly entering the building and disappearing from sight.

Gu Su's eyes remained narrowed, his gaze closely following the White Raven's path, not daring to relax for a moment.

He had already anticipated that the White Raven would likely be attacked by the vines or trigger some unknown danger upon entering.

After all, such bizarre glowing vines couldn't possibly be without anomalies.

However, he never expected that the White Raven, after circling and investigating inside the building several times, sometimes landing on the vines, sometimes flying past collapsed walls, would emerge completely unharmed. It hadn't been attacked or triggered any anomalies, still moving freely within the building.

This unexpected turn of events left Gu Su somewhat speechless, and he grumbled inwardly.

Could it be that they saw I have elite undead warriors now and didn't even give me a chance to fight?

Although he was eager to test his troops' combat power, this calm situation made him feel somewhat unsettled.

Complaints aside, Gu Su did not let his guard down.

He had only been here for two days, but he knew what kind of place this was.

In this apocalyptic environment, the places that appeared safest often hid the greatest dangers.

He immediately made arrangements, dispatching several more White Ravens to fly over together, expanding the search area.

At the same time, two Skeleton Warriors, under Gu Su's decisive command, quickly stepped forward, their left arms steadily holding up their iron shields, protecting themselves behind the shields as they cautiously approached the building, remaining on full alert.

Upon reaching the base of the building, as per Gu Su's instructions, the two Skeleton Warriors no longer hesitated. One hand held their shield for defense, the other gripped their long-bladed bone swords, and they decisively swung at the glowing vines wrapped around the walls. The sharp edges of the bone swords sliced through the vines with a faint hissing sound.

Gu Su stood in place, his gaze fixed on the actions of the two Skeleton Warriors, still harboring doubts.

He refused to believe that these bizarre glowing vines posed no threat.

He secretly speculated that the vines might be a mutated plant, like a giant carnivorous flower, deliberately emitting a glow to attract small animals or unsuspecting creatures before ambushing them.

However, he wasn't worried. Undead creatures were inherently immune to mind-affecting magic. Even if these vines were truly strange or could release mind-controlling abilities, his undead warriors could handle them with ease. At the very least, they wouldn't be incapacitated by mental skills; they would only have to deal with physical attacks, and there was no need to fear.

But the result once again exceeded Gu Su's expectations.

The two Skeleton Warriors stood at the base of the building, continuously hacking at the vines with their bone swords. The severed vines fell to the ground, splattering sap, but the remaining vines showed no reaction. They neither counterattacked nor retracted, as if they were ordinary plants, allowing the Skeleton Warriors to cut them down.

This uneventful scene left Gu Su utterly speechless, but on second thought, it might not be a bad thing for him.

No danger, and they could harvest these strange glowing vines. Whether they would be useful later or not, it was best to collect them first. Being a practical person, he naturally wouldn't miss out on this unexpected windfall.

Therefore, he decisively issued instructions to the undead warriors behind him: "You all go over and help. I want all of these glowing vines, not a single one can be wasted!"

Just as the undead warriors were preparing to move forward, the White Raven that had previously entered the building to investigate suddenly flapped its wings and flew back, landing on the ground in front of Gu Su. It let out a clear cry, conveying the information it had gathered.

According to the White Raven's report, they had discovered an area in a hidden room inside the building that was completely different from the other rooms.

That room, protected by the vines, had not suffered much from wind and rain, and its interior could still be seen.

It wasn't an apartment at all, but someone's home chemical workshop. Although they didn't know what they had been researching and producing there, it was evident that the mutation of the vines likely originated from this place.

Gu Su's heart stirred. Compared to these harmless glowing vines, that special room was the true key to this building. He suspected it contained valuable supplies or some unknown secret.

A sharp glint flashed in his eyes. Without any further hesitation, he pointed at the White Raven that had brought the news: "You, lead a few elite skeletons over there and move everything in that room out. Not a single bit can be left behind! If you encounter any resistance, don't hesitate. Kill them all directly, no need to hold back!"
