Hu Guangsheng froze.

The girl giggled. Sitting on a desk, she kicked her legs. But she had no feet—there was nothing below her calves. I could even see the tops of her stockings. Her legs looked as if an incompetent photo editor had erased part of them.

The girl deliberately moved in a way that brought her legs into my view.

I could feel Hu Guangsheng trembling violently.

"Hee-hee-hee... You can see me." The girl giggled sweetly, blinking at the boy I was possessing. "Wonderful! I've been looking for someone to keep me company for ages. Come keep me company... Stay here and be with me forever..."

As that cold neared my skin, it began to sting.

He breathed hard and ran with all his might, putting tremendous strain on his heart, lungs, and muscles.

Beyond the classroom was the hallway, and beyond that, the stairs.

"Hee-hee-hee-hee..."

The girl's laughter followed close behind, like a curse that clung to him and could not be shaken off.

That icy, sinister breeze stayed right behind Hu Guangsheng's ear, too.

The girl was pressed close to him, blowing on the back of his head.

Terrified, Hu Guangsheng's mind went blank. All he could do was run.

He descended one floor. With only a few steps left, he took a long stride, trying to jump down them.

His foot landed unsteadily. Carried forward by his momentum, he pitched headlong and instinctively reached out to break his fall.

Crack! The bones in his hand snapped.

Hu Guangsheng's arm and shoulder slammed into the hard concrete one after
