"Ah!" Mi Yue cried out in fright and shoved the hideous corpse away.
The corpse toppled over, landing on top of something. Its rotting flesh was still writhing, as if breaking apart into countless maggots that were rebuilding its shape.
The rotten flesh fell away, and the skeleton stood up. It swayed unsteadily as it approached Mi Yue.
Mi Yue realized that the person beneath the rotting flesh was Master Wandao.
He tried to kick the skeleton away, but hadn't expected it to be so sturdy.
Mi Yue had forgotten everything. The skeleton cornered him, and his back hit a shelf full of miscellaneous goods.
He struggled and felt the handle of a knife. Without thinking, he swung it at the skeleton.
