"Did you feel it?" Mr. Yang asked with a smile at the corner of his mouth.
I silently nodded and looked out at the bizarre world.
The chains that had obscured the sky and filled both worlds had mostly disappeared. Only a few remained, flickering like candles in the wind as they swayed in the air. But in the spaces they had left behind, new chains were gradually taking shape. They were still translucent, though, and had yet to stabilize.
The two worlds were merging. Their rules were breaking down and being remade, over and over.
