Chapter 2164: Life (1)
I didn't think I'd slept for very long. I'd dreamed all night, but couldn't remember what about.
The hand gripping my clothes tightened again, shaking me back and forth.
I startled awake and opened my eyes to the dazzling sunlight.
"Big brother! Get up! You're going to be late! We're doomed, we're doomed!!!" my little sister shouted. "I have my final exam today, ahhhhh—"
I clapped my hands over my ears and flopped back onto the bed.
My sister, who'd just been yanking on my clothes and shrieking, had already dashed out with a clatter of footsteps.
I glanced at the sunlight flooding the room, then turned toward the open bedroom door.
A racket came from outside. I had no idea what my sister was doing. Every so often, her screams rang out again.
The bookcase stood beside the door. Most of it was piled with odds and ends, along with textbooks I'd never bothered to put away after graduation. Even my elementary school textbooks were still stuffed on the top shelf.
"Why are you still in bed!!! Don't you have work!!!" My sister shouted as she passed the doorway without even turning her head.
"I'm going to the neighborhood today. What time is it?" I picked up my phone from the bedside table. "It's only eight. The moving truck won't arrive until ten."
My sister dashed past the doorway again, already changed. In the middle of her frantic preparations, she still found time to shoot me a glare.
"Don't glare at me." I climbed out of bed. "I told you yesterday to go back to campus last night, so you wouldn't have to rush to your exam this morning. But you insisted on coming out for barbecue with us." I changed my clothes and kept
