On the television screen, a gentle, poised woman smiled like a child. Behind her stood a cabinet full of teddy bears. In a framed photo on the wall, she and her family beamed at the camera. Their happy smiles were somewhat different from her adorable grin on screen.
At the end of the report, the woman's husband and son appeared on camera, too. The man was bashful, but his smile was warm. The boy, on the other hand, was lively. He complained, a little aggrieved, that his mother only designed teddy bears and never designed cars. He proudly held up his toy car and told the reporter how his father had helped modify it, and how the other kids he knew were green with envy. The smiles on the couple's faces turned awkward.
I couldn't help laughing as the reporter teased the amusing family.
