People in the shop started talking.

The cashier's face was flushed, her cheeks puffed out.
A young man at a nearby table stood up. "Are you here to cause trouble? The rest of us have been eating just fine. You're the only ones unlucky enough to get spoiled food? What number are you?" As he spoke, he reached for the receipt.
Guo Yujie raised a hand to stop him. "What are you doing? If you want to see it, just look. Don't touch it. This is evidence."
"Evidence, huh..." The young man had been rebuffed, and he looked disdainful.
The skinny man ignored him completely. "Where's the owner? Get him out here to deal with this."

The shop had a simple layout. The register was by the entrance, with a drinks fridge behind it stocked with the usual bottled beverages, including soda, juice, and beer. The kitchen was at the back of the small shop, with a window cut into the wall. The fried chicken was placed in the window, and a server would bring it out.
