Background / History

Zhu Zhuqing is the second daughter of Star Luo Empire’s noble Zhu Family. Her elder sister, Zhu Zhuyun, was her rival in the family’s succession struggle: the winner would become imperial consort, while the loser would have their Martial Soul crippled. Zhu Zhuqing did not want to compete, but Zhu Zhuyun repeatedly schemed against her, including using medicinal herbs as a pretext to arrange her assassination. 42

While gathering herbs in a Star Luo forest, Zhu Zhuqing encountered Ye Chen. Six Level 30 Soul Elders sent by Zhu Zhuyun surrounded them and targeted her. Though injured and controlled early in the fight, Zhu Zhuqing used Netherworld Stab against the enemy control-type Soul Master. Ye Chen intervened, saving her from the ambush. 40

After returning to the Zhu Family, Zhu Zhuqing sought help for her critically ill father, Zhu Zhulin. Ye Chen publicly defended her against Zhu Zhuyun, then agreed to heal Zhu Zhulin on the condition that the Zhu Family protect Zhu Zhuqing from further bullying. Ye Chen ultimately restored Zhu Zhulin’s severed arm, changing the family’s treatment of both him and Zhu Zhuqing. 42 45 46

Zhu Zhuqing trained extensively with Ye Chen, breaking through to Level 30 before accompanying him into the Star Dou Great Forest. There, she gained a third Spirit Ring and a Ten Thousand Year Soul Bone, reaching Level 33.
