Background / History
Xiao Wu entered Nuoding Academy and became a focal point among the work-study students. When Xiao Chenyu and several sixth-year students attempted to bully her—with Xiao Chenyu demanding that she become his “pet rabbit”—she refused to yield despite being outnumbered. Tang San, Ye Chen, and Ning Rongrong arrived to support her, and Xiao Wu accepted a four-on-four battle against Xiao Chenyu’s group. 13
During the confrontation, Xiao Wu introduced herself as “Xiao Wu, the Wu of dancing.” She fought alongside Tang San, Ye Chen, and Ning Rongrong, revealing a yellow hundred-year first spirit ring that greatly exceeded the white ten-year rings used by their opponents. 13 14
She later challenged Ye Chen to a spar after learning that his first spirit ring was a thousand-year ring. Ye Chen defeated her Waist Bow without injuring her, then used Nine Spirits Begonia to raise her attributes by ten percent. The match establishes mutual respect between them. 16 17
After Ye Chen left to pursue his own spirit-ring hunt, Xiao Wu independently acquired a six-hundred-year second spirit ring from a dazed spirit beast. 27 She continued training through daily spars with Tang San, determined that the two of them should cultivate seriously enough to someday approach Ye Chen’s strength. 30 432
Five years later, Tang San finds Xiao Wu in the Star Dou Great Forest, seated on the Titan Giant Ape’s shoulder as Spirit Hall closes in. 186 During the ensuing conflict, she uses Instant Teleportation and Soft Bone Lock to immobilize a Soul Saint for a decisive opening. 188
Xiao Wu later sacrifices herself to save Tang San. Her soul is subsequently able to return to her body for limited periods; during one such return, she and Tang San become engaged with Tang Hao and Ah Yin’s blessing. 315 Ye Chen later promises to help resurrect her. 319
Appearance
As a child, Xiao Wu is described as pretty and adorably fierce. After five years away, she matures into a striking young woman whose appearance is compared to an elf and a “Forest Goddess.” 13 186

She worries over him during battle, trains with him daily, and becomes angry when he prevents her from helping him fight. 432 350 Her willingness to push herself during the staircase trial reflects both her stubbornness and her desire to stand beside him rather than be protected from afar. 350
