Matthew slipped the dead Eyeless Basilisk into his pocket enchanted with the Undetectable Extension Charm. The charm was remarkable: even something larger than the opening could fit inside, as long as there was enough space.
His pocket already held plenty. Fortunately, he had expanded its interior a few months earlier. Otherwise, there would have been no room for the giant snake.
A closer look had confirmed that this Eyeless Basilisk differed greatly from an ordinary Basilisk. Even its head was shaped differently—rounder than usual.

"Was that your magic?" the bearded Goblin exclaimed. He had woken when the thunder struck, just in time to see lightning blast the giant snake to death.
"Matthew—are you all right?" Luna circled him, checking for injuries.

Pupu lifted his head proudly.
"Even with a Thunderbird helping you... that's still absurd," the bearded Goblin muttered. "The spirits of magic really do favor humans."
"Let's head back. We made quite a commotion here, and we shouldn't stay."
The group caught a ride on the Thunderbird and soon returned to the Goblin Village in Cornwall, England.
"Old man, I nearly died back there," the bearded Goblin shouted as soon as he stepped inside.
"How dangerous could a library-type Secret Vault be?" the white-bearded Goblin scoffed. "Living creatures can't survive inside one, and its magical defenses can't be too strong, or the space housing it won't stay hidden."
