"You're awake?" The girl's voice was pleasant and tranquil.
Matthew's head felt heavy, as though he had been unconscious for a long time.

When he opened his eyes, he saw a black-haired maiden with slightly chubby cheeks. Her lively eyes were staring at Matthew.

Matthew examined the maiden's attire. Her black hair was slightly curly, gathered behind her head by a pearl hair ornament and casually draped over her shoulders. She wore a pair of silver earrings set with emeralds, and atop her head sat a white wide-brimmed hat adorned with lace.
Her shirt dress was decorated with colorful embroidery. The upper half used plenty of ornamental lace to create a puffy effect, while the fitted long skirt below fell naturally, outlining a soft, graceful figure.
The lace-trimmed sleeves covered only the upper part of her arms, while translucent lace gloves extended to her forearms.
It truly was ancient attire. Judging from her clothing and accessories, this black-haired maiden should have been a minor noblewoman from a fairly well-off family.
