Matthew and the other three boarded the carriage again and set off for Worcester.

Kadir drove the carriage while Irina returned to the cabin to rest. She had not fully recovered and needed the rest, while Matthew and Gryffindor continued discussing the popularization of magical education in the carriage's inner compartment.

"The reason the Church can suppress wizards now is because it deliberately gathers underage Muggle-born wizards and sends them to the Inquisition to be trained as Confessors. These young Muggle-born wizards grow up to become accomplices in the Church's witch hunts. That's why gathering Muggle-born wizards and spreading magical education is absolutely necessary," Matthew said.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Gryffindor nodded repeatedly. There were things he had not yet had time to consider carefully, but what Matthew said closely matched what he had seen during his travels over the years.

Just then, Matthew swiftly drew his wand. He sensed a considerable number of wizards approaching the carriage, along with intense magic fluctuations—the sign that spells had been cast.

The newcomers meant trouble!

Matthew waved his wand, and an azure shield enveloped the carriage.

Boom— Several massive fireballs exploded against the shield. Though they failed to break it, the powerful impact wave still overturned the carriage, shield and all.

After crawling out of the carriage, Gryffindor saw the newcomers clearly. "They're Confessors from the Inquisition!"

They were a group of wizards dressed in black robes, with long white cloths edged in red draped over the outside to cover their chests and backs, and conical pointed hats on their heads.

There were twelve Confessor wizards in the group.

Matthew adjusted his collar and said softly, "Trouble has come knocking."

The twelve Confessor wizards were utterly cold. Without saying a word, they waved their wands in unison, sending twelve fireballs flying toward them.
