Professor Trelawney hurried forward and cautiously held a finger under the student lying face-down on the floor. Once she confirmed he was still breathing, she sighed in relief.

Although she predicted a student's death every year, she was only trying to scare them. She did not actually want to see any students die.

"He must have caught that illness that's been going around during this time. Fred, George, hurry and take him to the School Hospital..." After speaking, Professor Trelawney still seemed uneasy and added, "Angelina, go with them. Don't let those two waste any time."

"Mission guaranteed, Professor," Fred said, patting his chest.

The three of them stepped forward and carried the unconscious student away.

Professor Trelawney cleared her throat and said mysteriously, "You've seen it yourselves. Things like this... have happened many times recently..."

"No one can guarantee that they won't be the next person to fall..."

She suddenly leaned close to a Slytherin student. "Will it be you?"

The Slytherin student jumped at Professor Trelawney's question, but before he could say anything, she turned and pointed at another student. "Or perhaps you?"

Professor Trelawney bent slightly at the waist and raised one finger, lowering her voice as though she were sharing a secret. "But there is a way for you to learn your fate in advance..."

"That is Divination!"

"Starting today, I require every one of you to divine your own future once a day. Tea leaves... the stars... or a crystal ball, any will do. Use whichever one you think you're more skilled at."

"And you must record the results of your divinations every day and hand them in to me as homework."

"All right, you may begin today's divination now."

Matthew and Jerry both chose tea-leaf divination because they were a little thirsty.
