Harry and the other two led Buckbeak on a stroll through the Forbidden Forest.

"Ron, didn't we have your brother Charlie take Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback away during our first year?"
Harry turned to Ron and asked, "Could he take Buckbeak away too?"
Ron was stunned for a moment. "Probably not... Charlie works at a dragon reserve. If we sent Buckbeak there... wouldn't he get bullied?"
Harry scratched his head. "What if we let Buckbeak live in the Forbidden Forest? Then Hagrid could still come here and take care of him."
"No, we can't guarantee that students or professors entering the Forbidden Forest won't run into him. Sooner or later, someone will discover him..."
Hermione had intended to reject Harry's idea, but after thinking it over, she said:
"Actually, it might not matter even if someone finds him. The Ministry of Magic people probably thought Buckbeak had hidden in the Forbidden Forest too, but it's so huge that they couldn't possibly come in here to search for him!"
